I just got up. It's going to be a long week at work starting Monday. I may have to work later than I usually do this Friday  because our deadline is Friday November 5th but I'll still be there to see Dear Amy's film.

Glad to hear the continuing saga of Little Ricky & the Girls!

I am looking forward to MR BK's thoughts on ANNIE that he is seeing tonight.

And the sound clips and photos from DR MATTHEW'S Sunset Boulevard.

Of course today is a work day.

Last night DR George wrote that my library has very weird rules for requests.

Well since all the dvds are free, they don't allow people to reserve dvds. But they decided that if people suggest the dvds. Then they will allow those people to get the dvds first. I find it okay.

If you see that a dvd is at the library you are able to call and ask them to hold it for you for the day.

My sister gave my niece a recording of ANNIE (not sure if it's movie or broadway). But she loves it.

Ben, when's your D.C. weekend for FOLLIES?

Don't know the exact dates yet. A friend who lives in DC is planning the adventure. She's a member/subscriber so I think she gets an early shot at tickets. We will know more in January, I think.

Good morning, all! Besides typng lyrics for Herbert's German lieder, this weekend I am moving furniture about and pitching unwanted items; I've shipped enough CDs and books to Ohio that I can hopefully lose a CD case and move things around a bit for space and accessibility.

I see no one mentioned the preview I posted last night, so I doubt anyone watched it. I can only urge you to watch this wonderful item about the world's oldest living holocaust survivor. Alice is amazing.

BK, your Nov 3 Gardenia show was mentioned on the Barihunks site this week:

Just watched the clip for Dancing Under the Gallows. Amazing. Her birthday is in November. She still plays the piano beautifully. Thanks for posting the link Lar!

TOD: Pimento Cheese. I wrote about it a week or so ago. Have been making it for weeks. Can't get enough.

DR Elmore, don't know if you saw this in the NYT review of Christine Brewer's concert:

As an encore, she sang a comic Victor Herbert song, “Art Is Calling for Me,” putting an impish spin on the first lines of the chorus: “I long to be a prima donna, donna, donna,/ I long to shine upon the stage.”

Paul Simon's review of "Finishing the Hat" is really good. Maybe he should write prose more often.

I've been making pumpkin oatmeal. I always make oatmeal with milk. Then I added a couple spoons of canned pumpkin and some cinnamon sugar and pecans.

I wouldn't say that oatmeal is my food obsession. I just am eating it for the cholesterol benefits.

I now have three cats running wild in my house.   Well, two observing the third running wild.   Ricky woke me up about 6:00 AM. He was crying and scratching the door.  I really don't want the door scratched up, so I eventually just went in there and laid on the bed. every time he scratched, I put him in his carrier.  I don't know if he got the message, but the scratching stopped.
