And the best of vibes for the oh so many who need them.  I wish I could do more, but vibes are very powerful things to be sent through the air to bring good things.

Doris Day fans, she is giving a very rare interview to be broadcast at 1:30pm New York time on

WNYC Radio

It's on the FM station and it will stream live. Jonathan Schwartz will conduct the interview. The program is on now (from 12 noon to 4pm). Make sure 93.9 is highlighted and then click listen now. A new window will open and the program will begin.

Again, the Doris Day interview will take place at 1:30 Eastern Standard Time on WNYC Radio 93.9FM.

I don't know if it will be available on the Web site after the program is over. It's not the iPlayer so I'm not familiar with their scheduling.

I now know what Jonathan Schwartz looks like (I listen to him on satellite radio) but I don't see anything about Doris Day.  I will miss the broadcast & hope I can listen to it later.

No oatmeal for me this morning, nor this past week... Unless you count the Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookie I had the other day, or the Granola Chocolate Chip cookie I had earlier in the week. ;)

And speaking of WNYC...

They just wrapped up their Fall Pledge Fund Drive, and a highlight(?) of the pledge drive was a series of spots that Alec Baldwin recorded for them... ;)

And...

This was reported by Michael Riedel a few days ago, and, frankly, it's one of the rare articles that he has written that didn't make me mad. ::)

This is the mention from Playbill.com:

Ben, when's your D.C. weekend for FOLLIES?

Don't know the exact dates yet. A friend who lives in DC is planning the adventure. She's a member/subscriber so I think she gets an early shot at tickets. We will know more in January, I think.

Yep! Tickets for FOLLIES go on sale to the public on January 30, 2011.  Members get first crack at them on January 24, 2011.

Thanks, now if I were only planning to be in my car during that time.  I need to figure out if I can record it off the internet.

I'm up, I'm up.  It poured during the night, but naturally since this is LA it's not pouring now and the sun is trying to come out.

Thanks for the continued Unemployment Insurance vibes.

Vibes from me too!  I went through that once.  I think I had 2 or 3 hearings, hopefully it will be over soon and work out in your favor

Today I went to the farmer's markey and bought a coffee cake from the Amish stand, zuchini marishino jam, carmel apple jam, chocolate fudge and a hamburger with a root beer float made with home made ice cream.   Guess I had a sweet tooth.

The fudge is really rich.  I may actually freeze it.

TOD: Pimento Cheese. I wrote about it a week or so ago. Have been making it for weeks. Can't get enough.
http://www.savorsa.com/2010/10/griffin-to-go-awakening-my-inner-pimento-cheese-monster/
My Southern grandmother made Pimento cheese.  I didn't like it as a little kid but discovered its appeal a few years later.  I've never had any that tasted like hers since.  I miss that particular taste.
that's because everybody makes it just a little bit differently from everyone else. I had a friend e-mail her recipe, which calls for New Orleans-style olive salad. Will be trying that next.

I left for about 1 1/2 hours and came home.  I walked in the door and it was silent.  Oh, oh....then one by one the three cats came up the basement stairs.  All alive and all in one piece.  Not friends but all alive.   This is a very good sign. Lots of vocalizing from Boo, but that's ok.  Ricky backs down immediately, so he's accepting his place in the pecking order.  Another very good sign
