DR Laura odds are you won't need a pat-down unless you are carrying something that sets off the alarms.  I carry a piece inside me that does usually sets off the alarms.  Now just carrying that darn liquid medication gets me pulled out of line.  In Medford they went through my luggage too.  In Portland they concentrated on the pat-down & the obnoxious security checker.

And how *exactly* did you swallow a gun?

Actually, if I were patted down, I would NOT want to be in a curtained off area. I would like all the passengers to witness a pat down.

Do you think they would pat down the girl in DR DRUXY'S photo?

I'm so sorry to hear that such a nice person as DKCelt is being bullied. That sounds like a horrible situation; I hope it is resolved soon! Hugs and vibes!

Speaking of bullying, the Cartoon Network has been shooting anti-bullying spots any time they can get someone famous who's in town who carries some weight with the viewers. Greg worked on a spot this week with the singer Ne-Yo. He said e-Yo was super nice, showed up early, and was polite to everyone and did whatever anyone asked, including removing his sunglasses. Coincidentally, they were Tom Ford sunglasses, as mentioned in bk's post. He had to take them off because you could read the name "Tom Ford" on the lens. We both wondered why anyone would put their name on the actual LENS! That would bug me if it was in my line of sight.

I watched AIRPORT 77 last night......the one with the big airliner crashing in the Bermuda Triangle and sinking to the bottom.....

Brenda Vacarro and Pamela Bellwood had a short 2 minute scene that was worth all the scenery chewing Miss Lee (Watch Me Work My Method) Grant did in the rest of the movie.....  My guess is that there were cheers in the theatre when Miss Grant met her soggy demise.....well, her double anyway....wearing Lee's rings.

Can anyone tell me how to change the size of a photo to make it smaller without making it pixel-y when you put it on the screen?

I have some large photos that need to be 120 kb.

I have been using a nice little freeware I downloaded while DR Jane was here:  FreeOCR.  I didn't want to have to pay for a new "lease maker" agreement, so I simply scanned in my previous lease, did the OCR conversion, made a few changes, and voila, I have a new lease!!

;D  It really was funny in Medford, our small airport here, to see the "dangerous" old people like myself get pat-downs.

My sentiments ;)  Plus it will just take longer.  Laura they really are very nice about having to do the pat down I don't find it bad.  Now a person from a different culture might be horrified.

I've spent a good amount of time on the phone this morning.  First I spoke with the drug company who had this official comment regarding the x-ray machine:

Quote
Exposure to x-rays & extreme heat may affect the quality of the medication

Apparently the machines generate heat.  Since my ice packs were still frozen & the meds well packed I should be ok, they don't know for sure.  I hope so since I will continue to use it.

Many, many years ago (about '83 or '84), a local station showed AIRPORT '77 in two parts and, perhaps to fill out the alloted time, they tinkered with the film speed just a tad to slow it up.  The problem was that they didn't adjust the pitch of the sound.  So all of the female actors sounded like they were men (yes, even Ms Vacarro.)  I'm pretty sure I still have a snippet of that recorded on VHS.

Well, she lived in California.  From what I understand, you can't spit without hitting a famous person out there.
