A few hours ago, I attended a "preview" recital by baritone,
Randal Turner. He presented a program of music by living composers. I admit, I was a bit hesitant to attend due to the amount of "New Music" on the program, but I'm very glad I went. He sang very well, and his selection of songs and arias was, well, well selected. -And three of the composers represented on the program - Clint Borzoni, Glen Roven and Jake Heggie - were also in attendance tonight. -And my friend, Jennifer Peterson, handled the piano accompaniments with authority and aplomb.
*Randal will be presenting this program in Oakland in two weeks, so, if you happen to be in the Bay Area and are interested in attending,
