I am sure that most major cities have a "tent city" where the homeless live, usually in church's parking lots.  In Seattle, they are required to move the tent city every ninety days.  Anyway, they just did a story on the news about this one man who lives in tent city by choice, not because of need.  The man said that his wife and his daughters were killed by a drunk driver ten years ago and he been basically living with the homeless ever since, as a kind of couseler or advisor.  The reporter asked if he could afford an apartment.  He looked at the reporter and replied, "I used to be a lobbyist in Washington.  I made more money than God."

It was a very touching story.

Regarding the Sal Mineo bio, I am not sure that all people consider the hours spent in a relationship with a member of their own sex to be earth-shattering or even live-changing event.  I would certainly not place it in the same category as saying that Errol Flynn was a Nazi!  Over the years, I have had brief but wonderful moments of sharing with many long-time friends, who under other circumstances  would not descibe themselves as gay, or even bi.

Just my opinion.

 So 11:00 my time....hmmm... I bet it will be very hard to get in on that one. Might be worth a try, though.  Thanks TCB.

Yikes - I'm glad Yogi and Craig are OK!

Thanks.  Once we realized Yogi was safe & the water was shallow it was ok.  This dog is so strange.  We have a very nice dog run with bark in it, however Yogi who has always had to be walked won't use the dog facilities & Craig has to brave the snow & ice & cold to walk Yogi at night.

Thanksgiving dinner in Fairfax was fun. I basically napped in one of the recliners whenever I wasn't eating. Otherwise...

All the nieces and nephew were there, along with my brother Mike's ever growing menagerie: three dogs, two guinea pigs, one hamster and one parakeet. -Although, they're currently just "baby-sitting" one of the dogs and the guinea pigs. Or something like that.

Food was eaten: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, rice, fresh cranberry sauce, rolls and pecan pie.

Football was watched: that game between the Cowboys and Saints was really something!

And pictures were taken. Lots and lots of pictures - at least by my Mom. -Although, even my niece, Emily, seems to have caught the shutter-bug bug.

My sinuses feel better, but I can tell that there's still something in my system. And I think I just need some more rest and sleep.

It's been great reading about everyone's Thanksgiving activities, and I really am Thankful for my HHW family.

Back from a truly lovelier than lovely Thanksgiving dinner - Cindy prepared a wonderful feast and we all ate like pigs - although I had less than I usually do, but no matter how little or much I eat at Thanksgiving I always feel like I've eaten a house - so I may as well eat a house.  One of the guests, who I've seen and spoken to many times at the Pearl home turned out to have a rather surprising connection to something I've done recently - I had no idea and it was a topic of discussion for most of the evening.  I'll write about it in the notes, but I'll just say she was part of a Broadway show that I've recently released on CD.  Who knew?  And what she did in the show is the most amazing part.

I also had two amusing e-mails today from folks telling me some fellow was wondering whether he had the longest running daily blog in the history of the Internet - that fellow was just beginning his eighth year.  I told the folks who e-mailed close but no cigar - and both of these gentleman, having done a LOT of research about it, truly believe that I own that throne.

And now I'm going to take a short nap before the food frenzy begins. Got the pies made, the roasted root vegetables, the onions sliced for the fried apples'n'onions. Only have the salad to make and I'm set to take off.

I'm home now after eating dinner and socializing with the family at the parents' house.  Tomorrow, we're all meeting at my sister's house, but I won't be able to stay too long.  They're hanging lights at the theater where "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol" will be playing and I am going to help.  After that will be a rehearsal.  I don't think that I'll really need to be there for the rehearsal since the lighting designer won't design her lights until they're hung, but I'll enjoy seeing another run-through.
