I showed the house to a prospective renter today who just happens to be the son of an Academy Award winner.

Jane, are you enjoying The Lacuna?   It sounds like it's either really good or really boring...if it's good I'll get it for my nook

I found the beginning more interesting than the middle.  This is an historical novel and the history is interesting, just not keeping me as involved with the main character as I should be.  Wait and see how I feel after the next 300 pages.  I was also very tired last night & this morning which could have something to do with my current lack of enthusiasm.

Everyone in my book group liked THE THIRTEENTH TALE. It might be a better beginning read for your Nook than a very long book.

Intriguing.  I hope you rent it to nice, clean, & prompt paying folks.

DR Cillaliz - THE LACUNA starts a bit slow, but it's picking up as I approach the 50-page mark.

So you agree with the woman at the book store, according to her friends.  I felt more inclined to her viewpoint & liked it from the beginning.  Now look where I am ;D

There's this Canadian Jew with big feet who wants it and he says he has a reference letter from Larry.   ;D

I think I will head off to bed now and bury my head under a couple of pillowes.  It seeems like every time I move one step forward, someone comes along and knocks me back two.

It's not my favorite but I like Maureen McGovern's version.

In honor of the TOD, I am watching "Casablanca" for the first time in a few years. Great quotes, great performances, but I forgot just how powerful it is.

We've been listening in the car to Dayton's Lite 99.9, a station that plays solid Christmas music at this time of year.  It gives us the chance to hear artists we don't usually hear and my latest peeve was just committed on TV by Annie Lennox.  In "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen" lots of singers say "...tidings of comFERT and joy..."  It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

My peeve is the one about Don and his Gay apparel.

Is Don wearing your frock?

Sorry Vixmom but I'm rolling on the floor laughing. :)
This isn't professional writing. But I, too, am laughing that one. Sorry, Vixmom.

;D

And, yes, I, too, am sorry, DR vixmom.

Iam not - it was very funny!

I am not really a bad speller - just a lousy typist!!
