Well, you've read the notes, the notes were happy and holiday-like, and now it is time for you to post until the holiday cows come home.

I should be in bed, but I'm not...yet.  Last night's rehearsal took five, count 'em FIVE hours!  Actually, I was there for five hours.  The actual run time was a little over three hours.  The problem was the [expletive deleted] light board.  The lighting designer has been having problems with the board over the last several days but tonight, it FINALLY worked!

At first, it just wouldn't work.  Then it worked, but she couldn't record the light cues to the board's internal memory.  Then she was able to record to the board, but they wouldn't write to the memory card.  Then it looked like it was writing to the card, but it actually didn't and NOTHING was saved, not even the internal memory.  It was all lost. :P We had to rebuild all the cues tonight (it only took about an hour or so) and it all worked AND the saving to the memory card worked!

The only problem during tonight's run was that some of her cues were not correct (a few cues in the wrong places, too much or too little light in a cue, things like that).  But those will be easy for her to fix and it should all work perfectly tonight, when we have our invited final dress rehearsal. ::) Pray for Rosemary's baby!

Oatmeal consumed, coffee drunk, bowl and mug washed, showered and ready for one more day (hey, that sounds like a good song title).

There's a huge sweep of frost on the ground in the backyard. It's cold enough to snow. I sure hope it doesn't.

I have my mate full of yerba mate this morning. I hope it helps me concentrate enough to write my story on yerba mate.

Yerba mate is not the name of my next novel.

Matthew, now that the show is over and you've had time to let it get under your skin, how do you feel about your work on "Sunset Blvd."? I know that going through it wasn't the easiest of times, but how do you feel in hindsight?

On the new "Carols for a Cure," the cast of "The Addams Family" sings a Hanukkah song in which they try spelling it out.  Somehow a "j" ends up in there and a few other odd letters as they stumble through it. It's  really funny.

I'm from the AP Stylebook school that dictates one spelling and one spelling only: Hanukkah. After 25 years of typing it that way, I can't change.

DR Vixmom (and anyone else) there is a spell check on HHW. So even if you are a bad typist you can hit that!  I don't usually do it. But have found it to be helpful occasionally.

I am a good speller. But a couple of my letters tend to stick (which I usually notice). Also I sometimes type so fast that the letters get reversed!

Good morning, all! I slept until 9am because I could not sleep lst night. Around 10:30, I opened the new book on Bock and Harnick and decided around 12:30 to turn out the lights. At 2:30, I had a bowl of cereal, and I have no idea when I finally nodded off. I do recall that my last dream was very funny and rather bawdy.

Today, I wait for the package I shipped from Ohio on Monday and work on Victor Herbert lyrics. My first tasks are to finish the edits on BROADWAY BALLADS and pay a few bills.

And a Happy Hanukka to everyone celebrating it!

Isn't it really early this year? Or is it me?
