Speaking of Blizzards, they are having one in Minneapolis also. They are predicting 16 or more inches of the white stuff. Last time I looked they already had seven.

Thank you Jennifer.  I understand your rant, plus it sounds a bit suspicious or there are some major incompetents working in the library.  Even computerized I have found my number one place in the queue change.  I no longer trust the order.  I can also sit in pending from one day to four days or longer.

Cute about your sister calling before your niece.:)

Thanks John G.  Pillars of the Earth should arrive today from NetFlix.  Did you read the book?  I read it years ago and wasn't as impressed as the general population.  I keep saying one of these days I'll read the sequel.

amazon has no copies of Brent's album and I have been remiss in getting it to them because we don't have all that many left.  I'll probably send twenty to them on Monday.

I just want to say that I am glad the woman took Spats back right away. She didn't even get home before changing her mind. So her daughter didn't see him and get attached to him and THEN returned him or let him get out of the kitten stage and then returned him. I am glad she took him back while the bus was still there -- otherwise he would have ended up at the shelter. I was just disappointed that it looked like he got a home, but didn't. He doesn't seem too upset -- he's purring like crazy.

I agree, and it's less traumatic for Spats.

The thought how close it came to a different outcome is scary.  As far as he knows he only went for a ride. :)

Bernie Madoff's son appears to be a suicide. It's ships leaving a sinking rat.

I can't believe he did it with his 2-year-old son in the apartment.

So sad.  We had a neighbor who committed suicide while his wife was in the hospital after having their baby.  His 5 year old son found him with his head blown away.  He thought the neighbor checking in on them would find him.  I'm sure neither were thinking straight at the time.

Ok, we're having a blizzard, snow, wids up to 45 mph, wind chill  something like -13, the interstate is closed, the plows have been called in and the Symphony isn't cancelling.  Seriously, they just announced they are still on.  This is really stupid.  A number of the members of the symphony live in surrounding towns.  There is no way they should be on the roads and while some may not, I'm sure there are those who will try.  I do not get the logic of this...and said so on their facebook page

Ginny, will you have a birthday splurge today? Or are you sticking to your cardiac diet?

DR Laura, I have a couple of small splurges planned today, but will try not to blow my cardiac diet completely.  I'd set aside 2 Hershey's Special Dark miniatures from our Thanksgiving table to eat today, but my friend Becky sent me 6 See's candies (all with almonds, one for each decade).  I just ate the smallest one of those.  Richard, Rob, my Mom, and I are going to Bravo Italian Cucina for dinner and I'm planning to have wine with my meal and their Insalata della Casa, which probably has a high-fat dressing.  I will make a prudent entree choice to compensate.

BTW, Becky also gave me a glass canister filled with 60 (count 'em, 60) chocolate Tootsie Pops!

No blizzard here. In fact, it's 75 degrees and sunny. Just my kind of weather.

I shouldn't rant about it, but I think it's very irresponsible.  There is a children's choir singing as a part of the event tonight.  I don't have kids, but I wouldn't let them go if I did.
