BROWNIES
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:26:04 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of brownies, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating brownies and wondering why there's no dessert called redies or yellowies.

Speaking of Alet Taylor (BK mentioned her in his notes), I viewed the Kaye Ballard clip that John G. posted yesterday and the other parts of that whole show.  That led me to Kaye singing "Sing For Your Supper" with Donna McKechnie and Roberta Peters.  That led me to the same song sung by Renee Fleming, Marilyn Horne and Frederica von Stade and that led me to the song sung by Rebecca Luker, Debbie Shapiro Gravitte and Christine Ebersole and THAT (finally...my original point) led me to "Any Old Place With You" sung by Stanley Mathis, who dances with (although she doesn't sing) Alet Oury...now known as Alet Taylor! :D

Snowing like the Dickens here in Conshohocken, PA.  I'll have to take pictures from my VP's office...

RE: Bonus material on DVDs...

If a movie is a classic (and I mean a true classic) I will watch the bonus material unless I'm forewarned that it's useless or dull.  But for recent films, I usually skip.  For the most part, the deleted scenes I have watched turned out to be wisely deleted in the first place.

It's snowing here in Manhattan also. Weather says we are due for a storm with the heaviest snow happening later this evening.

Correction--it's no longer snowing like the Dickens in Conshohocken, PA.  It's not snowing at all, at the mo'.

Something is still getting all jiggy with my connection to HHW. I may have to reboot the whole computer.

On DVD extras: I sometimes like them if I see that the end result was better and how it was made better. I would watch the alternate ending to "Broadcast News," for example, because the ending I know from the original release is perfect and knowing how the movie maker got there can be a help. Especially since I don't like to do a lot of re-writing. It shows me that it can be necessary.

I watched the movie "Cry-Baby" last night before going to bed. In my dreams, the director, John Waters, was having trouble with his ending and they shot ending after ending, none of which worked. I was somehow involved in the production and at one point, after looking at all these endings, DR Elmore appeared and announced it was his dream. That's when I woke up. So, I hope you found the right ending, DR Elmore.

Good morning, all! Thanks to an unsettling email from California last night I hardly slept. I was a night of tossing, turning, thoughts of what to write, a few vague dreams. Sometime after 2am I fell asleep, to be wide awake around 4. I think I was awake unti the sun rose before passing out again, and when I looked up it was 9:15. So, I have to spend my day drafting a short repl, acknowledging the email's receipt. answering a few questions and promising a longer response to follow in a few days when I have more cogent thoughts.  This seems a smarter plan than my initial thought last night of "Drop dead," although my frustration with one of my jobs has a lot to do with my initial reaction.

So, that will be some of my day. I have to be at City Center tonight at 6pm for a meeting with Rob Berman abpout WHERE'S CHARLEY? for Encores. I will fill the time fretting about the email and the missing check from my other major job and how it's affecting my health insurance.

Would that be Katherine Grayson or Grayson Hall. Either would be scary.

Well since my partner in Putnam County Dancing With The Stars, I have decided to do "9 To 5" - we shall see what we shall see.

I don't want to win and have to perform ALL OVER THE DAMNED COUNTY for the next year.....some place in the middle will be just fine, thank you very much.

Vibes for Joshie.

Just got off the phone with Dad. Mom has been up a couple of times but hasn't done much. Still in pain but the pills are working their magic.
