Enjoyed the dancing clip from DRMBARNUM yesterday.....I think the girl in the 4th couple FELL DOWN!  But she recovered....no retakes....it was a Sam Katzman-Clover Production, after all.

She did...right on her kazoo! I watched that part about a dozen times! LOL!

TOD:

It might not count totally as classical music, but my choice would be Gershwin's RHAPSODY IN BLUE.

I have twin problem with my sleep apnea.  Lately, if I don't use the humidifier, I've been waking up with a totally dry mouth/throat.  I can't even swallow.

If I use the humidifier, my head gets to full of moisture and I have the Mother of all sinus headaches.  Not to mention my nose stuffs up and I can't use the machine.

Can you turn the humidifier down lower and move it far away from you?  Maybe even change the direction of it?

That would have been way too cool.  Especially if the special guest was Helen Reddy

This afternoon, I'm going to go to Black Swan - I just decided that in the last two minutes.   Then tonight I'll watch Inception - I have it from Netflix.   Tomorrow Paul and I are going to see The King's Speech at 1:30 pm

DR Jose, I watched Winter's Bone in my upstairs den.  That's as close to the balcony as you can get in my house, lol

I do not want to see The Fighter in the theater.  I'll put it in my Netflix queue and watch it later.

Winter's Bone was pretty depressing.

I reviewed this several months ago and correctly predicted Oscar noms.  :)

TOD: If I didn't know the person, I might play it safe with Bernstein, Gershwin or Copeland. But I think I'd probably go with Samuel Barber's "Knoxville: Summer of 1915."

If I didn't know the person, I would recommend Ravel's piano concerto in G; "The Rite of Spring" or "The Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky -

If the person knew me - they would know I was a big fat faker and just parrotting what a much more knowledgeable person had said

Why would anyone wake up at 4:30 on a Saturday morning?

because the thermocoupler in the gas furnace failed causing the temperature in the home environment to plummet alarmingly?

We had a very much desired visit from John at Father and Son Plumbing this morning  - he replaced our thermocoupler fixed a leak , cleaned the furnace and gave us back our heat.

He asked for $200 = we gave him more

I have returned from the hilarious road trip, THE ROAD TO QATAR!, which has changed much from the reading I saw a couple of years ago. It's now a tight 90-minute one act show, cleverly staged and cast, and excellently performed. Two men and one woman play a large variety of roles from Arab terrorists to the Bratislava opera chorus and they are a complete hoot. The two standins for David Krane and Steve Cole in this funny telling of their 2005 adventure in Qatar writing the musical ASPIRE are also wonderful as a cross between David and Steve and Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Yes, the Road in the title is also a reference to Hope and Crosby. I laughed a lot and had a wonderful time.
