Cilla we loved The King's Speech

Can't wait to see it

I too am looking forward to this moving even if it ignores the truth regarding the Nazi sympathizers.

I think this shocking news is exactly meant to shock and discourage Oscar voters from supporting it; the film was written by David Seidler, a Jew who lost family in the Holocaust.

"Interesting" I didn't read that in the news stories.  Honestly I hadn't expected the story, knowing it is about the king who stuttered, to include the Nazi aspect.

More on the subject: the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were big Nazi sympathizers and had tea with Hitler. Here's more about the British politics on Palestine and immigration. The US turned back Jews, too, I recall.

Canada let very few in, if any.

I know more about Edward as a nazi sympathizer than George.  I need a timeline here but I thought that part of the family wanting Edward to abdicate was because of his nazi ties.

I think I am going to watch one, if not two, film adaptions of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.  I know that some people that it is sacrilege to wach a Christmas movie in January, but I don't agree.

First up will be Fredric March (Scrooge) and Basil Rathbone (Marley).

I didn't win Mega Millions last night.  But no one else won either.  So, on Tuesday, it is $91 million.

I thought that Mr. Herman looked very bad at the Kennedy Honors.  I realize that he is in his Eighties, but he seemed very frail.

It is shocking to me that people have gotten so old, including me.  I don't feel old; and I don't even think the image that I see in the mirror looks like a man in his Sixties.

I guess it really hit me yesterday, when George posted the obit on Charlie Callas.  It shocked me to see that he was 83.  I hadn't seen him in many years, so I guess I expected him to look the same way that he looked like, thirty years ago.

So there's still hope, DR TCB!

I guess I have to get used to the idea that some day soon, I will read that Liz Taylor has died, or even Angela Lansbury.  There are so few real stars left on this earth.

I did zero useful things today.  I didn't vacuum, I didn't do laundry, I am surprised that I even got dressed.

I don't play the blood and guts computer games.  I usually play the hidden object games.

I play Cityville or Frontierville.  Even less exciting than hidden object games, which I play from time to time

We've had above freezing temps for the past few days.  Man am I glad. I had some real ice issues developing on my roof and they all melted away.   It's going to snow and get really cold again this week, but at least I don't have any ice jams to worry about

I watched some of the ice dancing competition this afternoon.  Sounds like the women's competition will be very close
