TOD - I love BK's recording of AS THOUSANDS CHEER, specifically "Easter Parade" and "Let's Have Another Cup of Coffee."  And EASTER PARADE is one of my favorite movies, especially the song "The Girl on the Magazine Cover."

I always thought that Mark Harmon did an excellent job as Ted Bundy.  He is so totally different than the actual Ted, but he managed to capture that chameleon quality of Ted's.

Power went out for about ten seconds.  Of course, that shut down the computer (thank the Lord I'd just finished making CDs and doing work and had saved everything), the modem, and the router.  Genius.

Of course Sherlock moved and ruined the perfect photo.  Obviously he had fun today.  He got so dirty we had to give him a long shower.

So far two of our cast members have replied and are coming to get music.  Three to go, although one of those is coming tomorrow, so two to go.  Still trying to find a guest star to do one number.

I've had my dinner and my meds, and I believe it's time to settle down and watch some tv.

My neighbor next to me has new tenants above him. They're driving him crazy. He thinks the apartment is not being used as a residence but as an internet company.

One singer has been by so far.  One was supposed to be here between four-thirty and five - that hasn't happened yet.

Welcome eight GUESTS.  Maybe one of you can explain how we are still on page three.  This will NOT do and you do not want to know the Wrath of BK, which is very close to rearing its ugly little head.

Also, what are your favorite Irving Berlin classics?  Very important.

BK, I had this idea years ago to do "I Wonder Why/You're Just In Love" (from Call Me Madam), and then do "Old Fashioned Wedding" (from Annie Get Your Gun) and THEN sing the two (four?) songs at the same time as a double duet, like "You're Gonna Love Tomorrow/Love Will See Us Through" from Follies.  They have the same chord progressions and fit together almost perfectly.  I think the endings would need to be adjusted, but for people (like me) who love that counterpoint stuff, it'd be a heck of a lot of fun!  And no one has probably EVER done this, so it'd be a real surprise!

That's my suggestion. :)

DR John G only five members makes it easier to get the book from the library.  Of course it also makesfor a small gathering if anyone is away on the set date.

Hi everyone!   I'm still without cable, landline phone and internet at home, so I'm writing on my lunch hour at work.

There's been little progress in the cleanup of the room where the fire occurred (the storage room for all the residents); needless to say, all my belongings were destroyed.  I didn't have a lot of stuff down there, luckily.

In the meantime, I'm leaving for LA in the morning.  I'm going to Musicares (a charity attached to the Grammy Awards organization).  My fave female vocalist, Barbra Streisand, is being honored and promises to sing at the end of the evening.  I'm meeting several friends and am really looking forward to the show.

I hope to be back soon--hope everyone's doing well.  Sorry I haven't had time to read all the posts.

DR KevinH, have a wonderful time and a safe trip!

DITTO!

Time to run! I am off to the Frank Loesser office and then to NYPL. I forgot to mention that as of last night I am officially hired as "Score Consultant" for the Encores! production of WHERE'S CHARLEY?

Congratulations!!

For my group, now I not only have to determine paperback and library availability, but also Kindle.

But you'd be surprised. I wanted to pick a book like "Orphans Preferred" about the history of the Pony Express. I owned a copy, but the library only had two and the book was out of print.

Somebody else wanted a book that the library had no copies of.

But, boy, do they ever have copies of books like "Cold Mountain" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and other titles that we wouldn't go near.
