BK,

I haven't seen ISHTAR in years.

I saw it on home video...not in the theater.

Certainly it's no "classic"...but (its budget aside) I don't recall it being the total disaster that you and most of the critics claim it to be.

Thinking back, I thought there were a few very funny moments in the picture.

Bottom line: the movie, I thought, was just okay...not good...but not that bad either.

I had a similar reaction to HEAVEN'S GATE.

Both films have their individual problems, but they are also both "watchable," and somewhat entertaining.

I think the problem with these overly expensive pictures is that, with the huge amounts of money they cost and the talent involved, "great" things are expected.

That doesn't always happen.

I wonder how a person who does not know the history of ISHTAR and HEAVEN''S GATE would view them today.

Well, I didn't really understand the gmail thing last night about grouping by conversation, but bumped into it this morning.  Rob said, "Yeah, that's one of the annoying things about gmail," and was delighted when I showed him how to change the settings to remove it.  Thanks, DR JMK!

And then there is the song from THE NIGHT THEY RAIDED MINSKY'S that turned up in Annie!

i've always preferred the late great Lillian Hayman version!

I don't use grouping on GMAIL......but I use Comcast as my POPmail address forwarded to Windows Mail, which it almost like Outlook Express which I used for years, but isn't available on Vista.....or maybe it is now.....but Windows Mail is fine.

I've been to another frustrating day at the Staples copy center. Getting help when things so frequently go wrong there is so not in the employees' plans for the day, no matter if you've got the only machine currently working on hold while you wait for assistance and the line waiting for the copier grows longer. It's completely ridiculous.

Since I've been languoring - and that's not even a proper word - for the past hour or so, I really do need to get the rest of my day in gear. So...

Fascinating story in the notes about the "Tomorrow" music, BK.

Ditto...I love stories like that. :)

BK, maybe you can get Lauren Bacall to sing "Alive".

How about Linda Lavin singing "You've Got Possibilities"? :)
