My sister and I have had a full day shopping and lunching and shopping some more.  We came home and picked up my brother-in-law and went to the outlet mall near Frankenmuth before having dinner at Zender's.  The shopping was mostly looking at potential mother-of-the-groom dresses and I deduced that it will be a challenge, but not impossible to find something.  Mary Linda's Mom wants us to wear floor-length, but she hasn't chosen her color yet.  I'll wait until she does before I start looking seriously.

Well, we just got an official e-mail saying that the candidate who was offered the collection manager job (my supervisor) has turned it down.  "Although we found an outstanding candidate, her current employer offered her more money to stay and she turned down our job offer."  The position was originally announced in early February and it's now late April.  Who knows how long it'll take to do this all over again.

Lucky person getting offered more money to stay.  I'm surprised there wasn't a second choice.

Is there a plan for a matching color theme for the mother's ?  I thought you had an idea of what color you want.

DR Jane - I've been thinking "blue" for my dress, but today I saw a lot of other possibilities.

The rich blue you look so good in?  What color are the bridesmaid dresses?

The attendants are wearing purple.  The only reason I'm shying away from my favorite blue is that my mother wore navy for our wedding and it looks black in the pictures.

Good reason.  Isn't navy darker than your favorite blue?

There were two in-person interviews, but the other candidate really wasn't as good a choice as anyone would've liked.  There was a very good in-house candidate (in the opinion of several of us...although she didn't make it to the final round of "in-person" interviews), but the director (whose decision it is) did not agree. ::)

That's pretty, Ginny, and I don't think it will look black in the photos.

Maybe the director will take a second look at the in-house candidate.

One can only hope...she's the interim-collection manager and has been for several months.

Did it look like this?

From your photo, unless you included a description, it doesn't look like our scrub jays. ;D

Another photo shows the thick bill better. You can see the long tail and the light breast. Probably he recognized the silhouette.
