Had a couple hours more sleep and have been doing stuff all day.  I called the Academy and got security - they had an event going on and were frazzled but the guy took the info and said he'd call back in ten minutes.  He was confused as to where I'd lost it - thinking it had been in the auditorium - I explained rather tersely that no, it was in THEIR search of our pocket contents in the little gray trays.  He never called back, but I got him again around three and he said he'd just wanted to check with a few other people who were there last night.  So, as of now, my little ladybug thing is still lost.  I tried to go online to see if I could find something similar - I found plastic and wood, which I don't want - I don't know if what I had was glass or porcelain or ceramic - the closest I found was a lot of six little ladybugs made of glass, and I bought those on eBay.  Hopefully I'll like one of them and it will be similar - I'm very used to having this in my pocket and I want it there.  Stupid, I know, but that's the way it is.

I'm sure it was bought for me at a place like Ahhhs or a Hallmark shop, but I wouldn't know what to even ask for.  It's not a charm that goes on something - no loop - and it's not a bead - no holes.

I made a couple of eggs to tide me over until I go to the Music Center.  Best of all, I picked up my test books, both soft and hardcover.  Looks great, so I placed my book order and in the next day or so it will be available for pre-order on the Kritzerland site.  You will all be the first to know.

Color me amazed.  I just watched the newish Blu-ray of MANDINGO and I found it to be a rather good film, despite all the brickbats that have been thrown at it over the years.

Of course it would have been infinitely better with a beaver puppet.

I also purchased a zipper pull, a chain that attaches to a zipper, with a litter Bernese Mountain Dog on the end.  Yesterday I was in our favorite shop in town where we usually shop with Sherlock in tow.

The woman at the check-out saw my zipper chain, got all excited & asked if I have a Bernese Mountain Dog.  Without laughing I said yes, I have Sherlock.  She then exclaimed, "I LOVE SHERLOCK".

BK was it a little figurine like this?

Sort of - mine didn't have feet, though.  I think the assortment that I got earlier, like the one you linked, is glass and should be close to what I had.

Yes, but from what I've read it really just amounts to putting on the handle bars, putting on the seat, putting on the front tire and adjusting the brakes.   If I have touble, I have a number of hard core biker (as in bicycle) friends who I'm sure would be glad to help me.  I can't ride it until the battery has charged 8-12 hours anyway.

Having hard core biker friends is a plan, just in case.  I would never attempt to build a bike.  For years Bryan had a bicycle we purchased from my friend's son & babysitter, he built himself.  It had a number of special items including a beautiful multi colored bike chain Bryan bought at the flea market & the neighbor installed.  Of course the new bike the neighbor built was even nicer.

I thought WATER FOR ELEPHANTS was a terrific book.  After reading the reviews I told Keith I don't want to see it & he should read the book.

Well, my cousin and his wife are up from Coquille, Oregon, visiting for the weekend.  Of course, I have shows to do this weekend, so I decided to take tomorrow off from work.  Right now, I'm going to visit them at my parents' house until I have to leave for the theater, and then we'll all have the day together, tomorrow and Saturday.  They'll leave early Sunday morning.  It'll be a whirlwind weekend. :D

Be back later!

How very shocking to learn that Pete Menefee is gay!  Who would have thought it?  However, I am shocked to learn that he is dancing in GOT A LOT OF LIVIN' TO DO.  Gee, another excuse to watch the film again.

BYE BYE COW?  Wasn't that the role played by Tyne Daly in the TV version?

Well, we'll soon know for sure:  I'm about to drive to Beaverton, so if I end up on your fire escape, we'll know the transformation is complete.  :)
