Back from a great transfer session - all I can tell you is we spent lots of time on Dancing Dildos and Honey, Whatcha Doin' Tonight, and we color corrected every shot, fixed the bad framing issues on certain shots and these numbers look incredible now.  The internegative is really in good shape, I have to say.  And the color has never EVER looked like this - it's so accurate now it just makes me deliriously happy.  Also fixed terrible framing issues in Lesbian, Butch, Dyke that have always been there.  We kind of made an attempt to fix them on the DVD but we've REALLY fixed them for this transfer.  Our director of photography never knew when to tilt up or pan or not to pan or not to tilt - it's like he was taken by surprise anytime anyone moved anywhere - even though he'd watched three or four rehearsals in a row.  But now, we've pretty well fixed his errors.  We only have fifteen minutes left on reel five, so we should be able to finish tomorrow - whether we actually have time to lay it back to digital tape I don't know - Let 'Em Eat Cake will require some time to get right, another number that's never looked very good - there'll be some reframing things, some major color correction and hopefully it will come out as well as the rest.

I hope it has lots of browns.  I understand that is the way it was filmed.

Funnily, it does have a lot of browns - lots of brown clothing, brown sets - that's the way this film is.  But when color arrives, especially in the film within the film numbers - it's PINKS, and ORANGES, and REDS - lots of pastels, actually - so much fun to see it the way I actually remember the stuff looking when we shot it.

Did a two and a half mile jog and am trying to decide whether to have a sandwich out or to have hot dogs again here in the home environment.

More and more of our families are coming up with excuses as to why they can't come to Zach's Bar Mitzvah.  I am not pleased.

As in your personal family or in general?  Either way I'm sorry.

Aw...

R.I.P. Margaret Tyzack

Awww, not Cousin Bette!
My favorite of her performances.

She's awfully wonderful in I, CLAUDIUS, too, as his mother. I should watch that series again.

Richard and I watched I, CLAUDIUS while we were dating and, for that reason, used the theme from MASTERPIECE THEATRE as our wedding processional.

I wonder how often couples request that one. ;D

Decided to stay home - too pooped to go anywhere.  So, making low fat low-cal hot dogs.  Not nearly enough calories for a day (only about 610 all in), and I already ran off the plain bagel (no cream cheese) I ate at the lab - so, maybe some soup later, or some chips or something like that.

We've heard it at one other wedding - a music teacher colleague of Richard's.

Yes, is that what you meant or groups of families, not related, who were invited.

Oh, okay!  I thought you meant like other Jewish families; as in, "We went to all of their kids' bar mitzvahs, but they aren't coming to our son's."

In other news...

After a few more hours of sitting on the couch watching TV, I believe I'm going to go ahead and get ready for bed now. Tomorrow - and Wednesday - are going to be two very long days for me: staging rehearsal from 10:00am-6:30pm, and then orchestra rehearsal from 7:00pm-11:00pm. And since I have to be on the bus by 8:15am each day, well...

At least tomorrow's rehearsal is starting off with a Company Breakfast. :)

My niece finished kindergarten on Thursday. So today was her first day of summer vacation.  She had swimming lessons at 9:30am, junior junior synchronized swimming lessons at 11am. And 6 and under swimteam at noon.

When I went over to see her later she had fallen asleep. I guess she was tired! :)

The good thing is that 4 of her best friends from her class also belong to the same pool. So she will see most of them everyday. It's so cute. They hug each other everytime they see each other or say goodbye.

No rain today. Yeah!  It was such a nice sunny day!

My body is so sore. Went swimming with my nieces right before dinner. Can't swim with them there. But there is a treading water exercise i can do that really works out my muscles.

Supposedly they put up lanes to swim at 5:30pm. So i may try that one night. Although the pool is where my sister lives. And i'm not really supposed to go without my niece (although not sure they'd check if she was there and left).

Bk, I'm sure you must have said this before, but why do you only like to eat only one meal a day when you are on a diet? I've never heard of such a thing. I could never survive. I like to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. And eat at least 3 times a day.

My only comment, then, is to say that I watched my favorite Bollywood movie again, today. GUMNAAM (1965). A wonderful Indian version of Agatha Christie's TEN LITTLE INDIANS.

You can see the trailer for the film here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XemNT6cY8EE

It is quite a fun film.

Speaking of Bollywood, last night's Cupcake Wars was for the India Film Festival and a Bollywood star was a judge, don't remember his name.

In the amazing department, someone just posted on my Facebook page that they'd seen me on You Tube in a clip from Nudie Musical on The Mike Douglas Show with Cindy as a guest.  I talk about this episode at length in the book and how, after the clip they went to commercial and Mike came to me and asked me how he could get in on it as an investor.  To see this all these years later is unbelievable - Cindy comes on around thirty-five minutes in - you can fast forward to her entrance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlLV08qW6Uk&feature=share

Fun clip!

After a very stormy night with people being washed away in flash floods, power outages, trees down etc,. it was a wonderful day today.  I think the temps hit the lower 80s with low humidity and sun.  It was windy, but with all the water we've had lately, we needed it  to dry things up a little
