Don't ever let a student try to take blood. There was a small blood geyser.

I am reminded of a "Will and Grace" episode.  Stan is in the hospital and everyone thinks he's had a heart attack.  Will, Grace, Jack and Rosario get into a contest to see who Karen will turn to -- in other words, who does she trust more/like best/think most highly of.

Karen learns of this from a doctor who has overheard and sets in motion a series of pranks.

For Grace, she tells her she needs Grace's blood (Grace is deathly afraid of needles).  A student nurse with no experience is brought in to do the deed.  Grace freaks.

DR Ron Pulliam--

I thought of the same thing--I remembered that there was a blooper  clip of this scene--Debra Messing couldn't stop laughing:

I just came from the vampire's blood lab, where I was needled once in each arm, but no blood was drawn.  When they offered to try getting it from the back of my hand, I said, "Let's just forget it for today."

Odd, I used to have that problem when I was young & my veins were small.

I have the same thing happen, Ginny, and unfortunately I now have to have regular blood draws since I'm on cholesterol meds.  I have had the phlebotomists actually reach their "quota" of attempts on me.  It's horrifying.

When they have trouble finding my veins (which has only happened twice) I ask them to use a butterfly needle.

Of course, this post makes no sense in the context of this page.

;D

I never heard of a butterfly needle, wish I had know about that way back when.

Today's experience at the lab really has me rattled.  I know I'm not the easiest draw in the world, but taking coumadin requires a check at least once a month to determine dosage.  I will try again tomorrow on my way to meet DN/goddaughter Lauren for our pre-wedding manicures and if it's unsuccessful again I'll call the doctor's office.

I'm glad you won't be delaying the test.  Maybe if you call the lab & ask to speak to the person in charge you can find out who the best people are for you to see.

Today at work is going to be a day.  We're FINALLY having another interview for our collection manager position (which is my supervisor).  This is the third, count 'em THIRD round of interviews...actually, the second time that the position was announced, they didn't do any live interviews.  I think that they had a couple of phone interviews, but no one was good enough for a live interview.

We'll see what happens!

Well, the interview is over.  And now we wait.

Well...that was quick.  I have a new boss.  I don't know when she'll start, but I'd heard (from people who weren't part of the invterviews at all!) that she was already signing contracts.

VIBES YOU LIKE HER VERY MUCH!!!!

Well, it's been a summer.  4 shows opened in 4 weeks, another in rehearsal (Nunsense) and one in the process of casting ( Parade) and school starting on Wednesday for me.  Like I said, it's been a summer.

That's all I have.

Hi Matthew. :)

From DR Jose:
Quote
I actually think it's the first show of mine that John and Alyssa have seen. They had a great time. They visited the "schoolhouse" during intermission, and the trombone player talked with John since John has been playing trombone for about two years now. After the show, I took them around the walk-around, and one of the stagehands even gave Alyssa a ride in the surrey!

:D

Thanks for the vibes for my friend.  This is only the beginning for her.  She will need to apply for financial aid, if it is available, from the government.  I hoping at the least friends will be able to remove the trees off of her house.

More vibes to your friend.  Who knows how long it'll take them to set up the financial aid system, but vibes that they don't make it too complicated!

Thank you. I have no idea how applying works or what will be offered.  Loans might not even be an option for her if she can't pay them back.

Anybody like the twist on BIG BROTHER last night?

Curious to see it play out.  I kind of like it.

Had fun with Vicki and Joan and they leave tomorrow morning to perform the little fifteen-minute presentation for the cabaret conference.

Just to show dear JMK, who was trying to shame me yesterday for my criticism of the ridiculous media reportage of the "hurricane" that wasn't, here is the headline from the roadrunner page:

Picked up the check disc of Nudie - we watched some of it there and it looks very good.  I asked that the menu be kept simple and it is and extremely easy to find things and navigate.  He'd kept the two Easter eggs from the DVD as Easter eggs, but I'm having them moved to the special features section.  I'll watch tonight all the way through.

If you think I was trying to shame, you're quite mistaken.  You're shameless.

UPS  has notified us our shipment of wine will arrive on the 31st & someone must be here to sign for it.  We were rather baffled as we haven't ordered wine.  Eventually Keith figured out who must have sent it.  I hope there is a mix of red & white, and that I like the white option.

Sadly, "And this is what I saw" was taken. By someone who hasn't updated in about six weeks.

Topic of the Day:  I was three years old in 1969. ::)

;)

I'll have to think about this one.

Well, I wasn't even born in 1939, but I still like THE WIZAARD OF OZ.

Since the beginning of May I have only driven once, about two months ago, and it was difficult to do so.  Today I drove to PT and it wasn't more painful than doing other activities. :)  I felt safe driving which too. :D

It was a pleasure driving my car & listening to MY music.  Since I was on my own time schedule I went for a walk in Lithia Park along the creek after PT.

TOD---Of course, Hello Dolly!  Another all-time favorite from 1969 is The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, though I didn't see it until years later.

I, of course, was way too young to have seen any movies in 1969.

from George:

That's the way our library system works, too.  Once a talking or e-book checked out, it's checked out for the full three weeks and it can't be checked in.  The only thing that can happen (from what I understand) is that if you've put in a request for the title and you get notified that it's now available, but you don't actually check it out, you can choose to not take it and it'll go to the next person.

Today I received a call from the library telling me how to "return" my e-book.  Silly clueless me, I had to do it through adobe, not the library.

Apparently all of our e-books are shared throughout the state, not our local library systems.  Is it the same in Washington?

It's not the same for Timberland.  We're our own library system and we've chosen not to participate in the state-wide consortium for downloadables.  This way our selectors get to choose specifically what they want for our patrons.  We could've, if we wanted, but we didn't want.
