Good morning, all! I am on my last round of work at the Library of Congress. Depending on how well the microfilm machines are doing, I could be finished as wearly as noon. I discovered last night, while checking my return Amtrak ticket, that my original reservation for ewturning had been made for a 6:30 am trip back to Manhattan, not PM. I really screwed up, so I have to rectify that when I get to Penn Station today.

Richard and I just had our flu shots, which we thought would be a good idea before traveling.

My office is doing flu shots for the employees tomorrow but I'll be out for the day getting Mom home.  But I've made my appointment with my GP to get one on the 19th.

I saw last week that Warners will be releasing season one of THE COURTSHIP OF EDDIE'S FATHER.  I'm contemplating it but it's on the pricey side...

My copy arrived in the mail on Monday.

"People let me tell you 'bout my best friend,
He's a warm hearted person who'll love me till the end.
People let me tell you bout my best friend,
He's a one boy cuddly toy, my up, my down, my pride and joy.

"People let me tell you 'bout him he's so much fun
Whether we're talkin' man to man or whether we're talking son to son.
Cause he's my best friend.
Yes he's my best friend."

Ah, so it's already released.  Let us know how you enjoy it, DR Ron.

DR Laura - we saw pictures of that dust storm and the big accident on the interstate on the news last night.  Yikes!  I'm glad you got home safe!

Ginny, I am always worried when driving from Tucson to Phoenix in the summer in the afternoon. That storm hit particularly early in the day.

I am home. I finished photocopying the copyright libretto of THE RED MILL around 10:45 and decided to aim for the 12:02 Amtrak to NYC. By 11:15 I was in line for the ticket counter, and it cost me an additional $28.00. Now that I am home, I need to make a fast trip to the bank.

I spent the morning at The Monarch Scientist's house. The Monarch Party is in her yard this year. She was inundated with caterpillars. When she finds caterpillars, she puts them in a mesh hamper to keep them safe. Today she released 14 butterflies. Inside, another 12 emerged. They will be freed tomorrow.

Here is the 100th Kritzerland CD release - one of my all-time favorite scores by one of my all-time favorite composers.  It's been a year in the making and it was worth all the effort, let me tell you.  It will be on the site for ordering at six in the morning.

Kritzerland is very proud to present its 100th CD release: A limited edition soundtrack and the world premiere release of the complete score to:

SUMMER AND SMOKE
Music Composed and Conducted by Elmer Bernstein

Where did I get the idea that the 100th CD was going to be that "automobile" film?

Still raining.  No jog today.  Orders are very healthy so far.  There's a problem with one of the audio samples - it's only four seconds.  It was NOT four seconds when I approved the page.

I finally forced the JMK issue, and now I at least know I was right.  I'm not happy about it but am trying to get him back here.  I've sent what I hope is a reasonable and nice response - we'll see what good it does.

DR TCB

No I've never visited Seattle. Should I?  I believe they drink an awful lot of coffee there so it might be my kind of place.

I suppose there may be a small amount of coffee drinking, as well as a small amount of regular drinking.  But Seattle also happens to be one of the most beautiful cities in America.

Good luck DR JANE......I still say top loading washers are the best.  That's my review.

I like the reviews & the look of the LG only it might be too deep for short people.  I need to see it in person.

The imagery this last comment brought forth had me cackling!   Jane leaning in and being swallowed by the dryer.

Or...the dreaded "Downy" sheet will pull her in and start a drying cycle.

:D

LOL-Actually it was the washing machine & it did feel like it was swallowing me.  To reach the bottom of the inside I had to stand on tip toe and the machine pressed into my diaphragm.  Ron, I didn't check if the dryer will also swallow me up.  I will do that tomorrow cuz I really like these machines.  The lid to the washer slowly closes with a gentle start.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Are the English translations we see for Japanese names....such as Toshiro Mifune......phonetic translations of the Japanese symbols or are they English translations of the meanings of the Japanese name symbols?

I am glad that today is not ASK TCB DAY.

Richard and I just had our flu shots, which we thought would be a good idea before traveling.

Excellent idea.  All around the ship there are antibiotic soap dispensers.  I don't like the stuff, or it doesn't like me, so I didn't use it as often as Keith did.  I got sick on the way home & he was fine.

Cilla, I saw your friend at the Amanda Knox press conference.  Unfortunately they kept introducing Ted Simon as Theodore Simon, and all I could think of was Alvin's two brothers.

I'm taking my car in for servicing tomorrow. I hope the mechanics don't find a million things wrong with it as they did last year when I ended up paying the equivalent of about $1,500.

Welcome back to NYC DR ELMORE....that was a quick trip!

It was a longer trip than I usually do, but I had three shows to look over and copy materials from. Since i was counting on celebrating my birthday with my friend(?) Loras, i made no plans to see anyone else, didn't take emails addresses or phone numbers, and so it was a very dreary trip in terms of socializing. I have no idea what's going on with him, but he's got my phone numbers and he could have called to explain the situation or emailed me. He's also removed himself from Facebook, so maybe he's cracking up and I'm getting the fallout.

Michael, if I remember correctly, if you had participated in the Kickstarter fund raiser for TFNM, those are what was just mailed.  If you had ordered the Blu-ray and the CD directly from Kritzerland, both of those will be sent out at the same time, when the CD is ready to be released.

Jane, I chose my dryer because I liked the door handle. I  know that sounds silly, but there were a lot of dryers that had very hard-to-open doors. I knew I would have to live with it for many many years, so I wanted one with an easy-to-open door.

So be sure you like the feel of the washer and dryer. You have to live with them for a long long time.
