Didn't get lost at all yesterday, JMK. But I still have 3 days left.

My breakfast was just delivered by room service and it is yummy. Hopefully they remembered to send up DECAF coffee this time.

I still have not made it over to Amoeba Records, but am hoping to do so later today after I have lunch with Jewell Lain (Crash Landing, Suicide Battalion, Three Blondes in his Life).

Good Afternoon!

So far it's been a very grey/gray day here in Manhattan. Some light drizzle now, but we're supposed to get some more significant rain over the next 24 hours. We shall see.

In other news, I'll be seeing the new play, Sons of the Prophet, this afternoon at Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre. My friend, Santino Fontana, is in it - as well as Joanna Gleason. I'm really looking forward to it.

I recently bought a new phone and today sent my first text message to a friend reminding her of when we are due to meet. Unfortunately I seem to have inadvertently sent the message to everyone in my phone book, including friends, businesses, dentist etc. How embarrassing!! Goodness knows what they will make of the message. I just hope they don't all turn up.

I'm sorry, Doug, but I laughed when I read this. It sounds like something I would have done.

I'll admit I thought of you, Laura, when I read that!

Hey!

Dear BK:

Why is it I always come up with a question on Thursday and then forget it by the next Wednesday?

Good morning, all! I have no memories of any dreams last night, I am happy to say, and my day today is quite full: City Center Encores! to visit with Joshie and look at the full socre for 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, lunch and a chat with Rob Berman about some work on the Encores! Gala.

My wonderful brother Randy and sister-in-law and chef par excellence JoAnn gave me for my birthday a Kindle, and I have to get it up and running before they think I don't like it. I'm really lousy with technology and could use some help playing with it, and I really don't know what I want to download! I hate trying to learn something from an instruction manual; I feel as though the manual and the illustrations are speaking Esperanto and I'm waiting for the translator to show up.

DR FJL, This is a belated happy anniversary wish! You and Skip are the best, and I dropped the ball yesterday. Hopefully this will give you the excuse to celebrate another day.

Congrats on the Kindle, Larry!  And Amazon.com has a LOT of free e-books in the public domain. :)

Mercredi evening greetings!  Richard and I have had a delightful day here in Paris.  We slept quite well, me 'til 8 and him 'til 9, and had a nice breakfast in the hotel's cave-like basement.  We boarded the red on/off tour bus at the Musee d'Orsay at 11am and rode until it reached the Louvre.  Got off there and walked back to our hotel for a "rest stop" and a nap for Richard.  Then, we went around the corner to Cafe Voltaire for lunch at a sidewalk table before walking back to the Louvre to pick up the red bus.  Rode the tour to the Grand Palais and got off to walk to the Rodin Museum, which our guidebook said is open until 8:30pm on Wednesdays.  Well, the book was wrong and the museum had closed by the time we got there.  So, we regrouped and window-shopped through 7e until we reached a shop whose sandwiches, salads, and pastries appealed to us.  We bought a tuna baguette, a carrot salad, and a tarte framboise to share for dinner and brought it back to our hotel.  We are in for the night to use the lay-of-the-land we acquired today to plan our next 3 days.

Thanks, Larry!  Actually, the official 22nd anniversary day was Monday, but we're celebrating all week, so you're completely on time!

Brent Barrett is playing Ben in the Chicago (Illinois) production of Follies.  He recorded "Make the Most of Your Music" on one of his solo CDs with BK.  Now he gets to sing "Live, Laugh, Love" within the context of the show. :)
