Bruce congrats on the new deal!

And now he has something in common with FDR!

I wondered if someone would comment on my wording. :)

On top of that I have a $500 car repair bill...something about wing nuts and combers or something, I don't know. It had happened to one wheel a few years back, and now is happening to the other wheel. Hyuandai can't figure out why it is happening, especially since I have so few miles on my car and I don't drive over rough roads.

I've been thinking of getting a Hyundai - now you've got me worried.

I have had three (or is it four?) Hyundais, and I have loved every one.

I love my Hyundai, also, but I don't love that it keeps having this same problem on different wheels.

The bearings, that was the problem, the bearings, and a hub needed to be replaced also. It is on order and should be in tomorrow. Fortunately, I don't need my car during the week days.

Dear TCB, I am going to be making some of that onion soup mix dip you were talking about recently for our little get-together tomorrow night.

Great!  I am sure you will all enjoy it.  I am thinking that I need to make some more for the World Series starting tomorrow.

It is also fortunate that I didn't ignore the noises, otherwise my wheel might have removed itself from my car at some inopportune moment, such as while driving on the freeway.

I Don't Get It #1

I received a coupon for $5.00 off Pirates Of The Carribean: On Strange Tides.

BUT..........

You have to buy the 5 Disc version!! You get the Blu Ray, DVD, 3D Version, and the Digital upload and one other disc that I'm not sure what it is.

I don't get the concept of Combo packs

I really only need the Blu Ruy.

Michael-

I agree With You 100%.

This Is A Marketing Scam(as Far As I'm Concerned)

Who Needs A Regular DVD and A Digital Copy

I have A Blu-Ray Player And I'm Trying To get Rid Of my Regular DVD's when I up-grade To The Same Title on Blu-Ray

I don't need another Regular DVD Or A Digital Copy

I Believe That The Manufacturer's Need to re-think Their Marketing Strategy And Not Hoodwink Their Consumers

Speaking of tempered glass, I was driving home from a gig the other night when the most appalling "thwack" hit my car.  I thought someone might have shot at me, so loud it was (what am I, Yoda all of a sudden?).  Checked the car thoroughly when I got home, not a sign of damage.  Well, waddaya know--two days later a spider web of cracks is appearing on my windshield.

That is kind of how my big window crack happened though the initial sound wasn't so loud.

Yikes!  I've had my car for about 13 1/2 years, and there's been a crack in the windshield for almost 10 of those years. ::) It's not in my line of sight, so I just haven't had anything done about it...and I won't until I need to.

My crack was right in front of my vision & kept making me nervous.  I have friends who have had a crack for years.  If JMK & I had noticed where the window was hit & taken it directly to the glass repair they could have stopped it from spreading.

I can see my clothes washing and how little water the energy efficient machines use.  I'm testing the machine with a small load of dishtowels.  They make pretty patterns as they spin around.  Craig set the first load up & watched with me.

LOL!! I have an image of the two of you sitting in chairs watching the machine like it was a TV

I hadn't had the onion dip in years until I was at mom's for something and we needed a dip so I found sour cream and onion soup mix in her cupboard.  I forgot how good it is, lol

Mine fell off of my blazer years ago when I was driving with mom.  Luckily I was going about 10 mph around a corner wondering what the noise was.  I had to jump out of the car and chase it down the road, lol

After paying all my bills and quarterly employment taxes I needed the same sort of retail therapy.

Really?  REALLY??

The rumored casting for Fantine in the film version of the musical Les Miserables is no longer a rumor. Producer Cameron Mackintosh, in an interview on BBC Radio, said that Anne Hathaway will play the tragic matriarch who sings "I Dreamed a Dream."

Anne Hathaway...a "matriarch"? ???

She's only 28 years old!

Did the four-mile jog, ate some lunch, did some banking, picked up some packages and have had a telephonic conversation that, in principal, means we have a deal for Kritzerland to issue a major cast album from a new musical - not a hit, unfortunately, and already closed, but a nice score by people I really like.  So, if the word of its composer, who paid for the recording, is anything to go by - "We have a deal."  We're meeting on Monday to iron out all the salient points - if it's all a go, I think we'll get it out in about six to eight weeks time.  They had a booklet designed at a cost of 6K that they asked if I would pick up the cost for.  I told them they could keep it as a nice souvenir, since I don't pay anywhere near that figure - ANYWHERE near, and we do really nice booklets.  This will be a long one, as they want the lyrics in, but 6K - people are a little insane, but if they find people who don't know better this is what happens.  From what I'm being told about the album production, I probably could have saved them anywhere from 50 to 100K had I done it from the get-go.  While the mix is not that pleasing to me, we'll try to help it in the mastering, but knowing what the producer was paid, it's a little shocking what he delivered.

Congrats, BK!  That's exciting.  Can you give us a hint?  Was it from this past season?  Was it on Broadway?  Would those be obscure enough hints?? :D
I would gather since the authors are dead that this not either a recording of Cole Porter's "Jubilee" or Bob Merrill's "Prince of Grand Street."

No chairs as it is a top loading machine. ;D

We really didn't watch all that long.  With each load I watch less, mostly now to check the water levels.

The character is not supposed to be too old, despite the age of the women who have played her on stage. Think of how young Cosette is. But, yes, the word matriarch makes one think of Miss Barbara Stanwyck or Barbara Bel Geddes.

I believe in the book that Fantine was 25 when she died.
