I finally received my DVD-R of "Lost Horizon" from Warner Archives in yesterday afternoon's mail.Nothing would do but that I put it into my BD player and see how it looked. And that title song sung by Shawn Phillips....why is it that it really moves me?
Quote from: John G. on October 19, 2011, 10:42:22 AMJRand, The Human Vapor sounds interesting. Very intriguing title. Especially if it's a story of alcoholism. And I doubt that.No it is not, it is a man who is able to turn himself into a VAPOR - he then robs banks so that he can give the money to a dancer so that she can have a recital.....

Not to mention "The Love Machine." Oh, I guess I just mentioned it, sorry.

I used to enjoy chatting to the lovely, tall, blonde Lithuanian girl who managed the place but sadly she has moved on. My grandfather was from Lithuania.Good to hear it DR Jane. Lithuanians are lovely people. There are lots of them living round my way. There's also a handy Lithuanian supermarket selling all kinds of interesting food.

Unfortunately, Joel Grey was out (actually, the insert in the playbill said that the role of Moonface Martin is " NOW being played by Robert Creighton," so I guess Mr. Grey is gone for good. Frankly, I don't know he could have been better than Mr. Creighton. Sutton Foster was amazing! How she could still sing after that demanding tap routine in the title song, I can't imagine. She didn't seem to be out of breath at all. The other actors were all great too.
I haven't tried it yet, TCB. It's for the gathering tonight.
I would love to take one of those Christmas time river cruises in Germany. I guess it is very beautiful with all the decorations and lights.
I made hot buffalo chicken dip, hummus, onion dip, deviled eggs, and cocktail meatballs. With chips, baked pita chips, and celery and carrot sticks for dipping in the aforementioned dips.
Cool! Just found out DR JHVW is working on one of the 7 houses in 7 days that Extreme Makeover is doing in Joplin. That's pretty cool. I'll have to find out if Joe is working on them too
