tod: Pasta, the forbidden fruit. Linguine with clams, hold the linguine, has become my favorite dish. I also love pasta with a garlicky pesto and maybe some chicken. Butternut squash stuffed ravioli with brown butter sauce. You name it.

Monday morning greetings!  We were awakened today by our lawn guys, who were here to do away with the blanket of leaves covering our back yard.  They did a great job and finished just in time to avoid the rain.

And the word of the day is: FASCICLE!

Cherry's always been my favorite flavor.

Listening to Sassy's collaboration with Sergio.  The two didn't get along very well but the album is fantastic IMHO.

Yep, but I have to find my copy, so you'll have to be patient.  :)

As for the Topic of the Day:

Gnocchi - Well-made gnocchi are hard to find, but when I find them... :) And usually topped with a basic tomato or marinara sauce, or bolognese.
Gnocchi alla Romana - This is version made with semolina, formed into a roll, sliced and then baked or broiled. Oh, and there's lots of cheese in the dough. -With a nice ragu.
Gnocchi gnudi - Yeah, more pasta dumplings, but these are ricotta-based, and a lot of time they're also made with spinach. -With pesto or just butter and parmesan.

And I have to say that a big of bowl of spaghetti and meatballs still provides lots of "comfort".

bk - It sounds like you had "gemelli" pasta that was served with chicken, mushrooms, etc. *Gemelli is Italian for "twins" since the pasta looks like twin tubes of pasta twisted together (when, in reality) it's just one twisted piece of pasta.

I was out of town much of the day yesterday, so must now go try to catch up a bit.

(Is New Jersey considered out of town?)

And now it's time for a walk and some coffee, but not necessarily in that order.

Laters...

Had a shooting incident just round the corner from me a couple of days ago. Someone in the street fired a gun at the window of a house. Police came around but no-one had been hurt. The people who were living in the house who were targeted have now moved out. And I thought I lived in a quiet neighbourhood!

DR DOUG maybe that's one of the secrets that Steve took with him.

That would be unfortunate. I was hoping for a solution.

So how was the actor who extended the invitation to the show?

He was okay.

It is, if you live in Texas.

JMK, Gary Gulman is indeed very handsome. I would certainly cast him in any production.

I checked out his website, also. There was a tab marked "Dates." I clicked on it, but it wasn't what I was hoping for.

But JRand, I must apologize for SCIENCE FICTION DANCE PARTY....I listened to it this weekend, also...but it is now in my donation pile.

The music was great, but why did they need to add in all those voices, screams, and monster noises? It just ruined it all. I wanted music, only.

Sunday I took my grand-neice and nephew, Taylor and Ben, to downtown Portland to see the puppet show PINOCCHIO.

It was fun, if not a bit manic.

I think my sense of direction is really l getting worse as I get older. I had a heck of a time remembering the way back to the parking lot that we had parked at, which was some blocks away from the theatre. However, Ben and Taylor (5 and 10 years old, respectively) were able to locate it without any trouble.

Of course, finding the theatre in the beginning was also a chore. I kept thinking it was on Salmon St, when it was actually on Broadway.

Benny suggested that I had thought it was on Salmon Street because I was hungry for some salmon.  :D
