Our local film/theater critic is having a bad week.  He didn't like Fiddler (except for Tevye) and hated J Edgar.   Ok a high schooler could have done the make-up better, but I thought it was a good movie.  Not thrilling and exciting or sexy but this is J Edgar Hoover we're talking about, what do you expect

We may get some tomorrow, but it's going to be 41 degrees, so it will be gone as soon as it falls. I don't think that counts

I want to see J. Edgar, but I really don't like Leonardo, so I'm a little leery despite the reviews.

You really have to try to overlook the REALLY REALLY REALLY bad make-up.  I kid you not, it's distracting. But I thought the content was good. I learned some things about him that I actually came home and fact checked. The movie was correct about them

I thought Leonardo did a good job.  I wouldn't give him an Oscar, but I thought he was good.

I will see it eventually, even if I have to wait for DVD. I read some bio of him that was filled with all sorts of hero worship and doggerel. I'd like to have a more balanced portrait, somewhere between Mary the drag queen and Dorothy Lamour's lover.

OK, I know many of you will call me crazy for this, but there is going to be a FoxNews Republican Candidate debate in Sioux City on December 15.  I just got two tickets.  I don't really like any of them, but I think it will be fascinating to see them in person and see how the interact when the camera is off.

Cilla, I think it would be great fun to attend a Republican Debate, but then again I always am a pushover for good comedy.  ;)

Jon Stewart's show last night had a great bit about all the Republican "front runners."  Plus a great IV with Scorsese.

Well, as much as I'd like to take them seriously, it's really hard to do that.  I do think it will be an interesting evening. I have 2 tickets.  Finding someone to go with me may be a challenge.

You'd get a kick out of some of the commercials, I doubt you're seeing them all.   Cain has one or two that end with this guy smoking a cigarette.  He doesn't say anything just looks into the camera and smokes.  What's up with that?

I haven't decided if I'm going to caucus this year or not.  If I do, it will be a Republican caucus because the dem nominee is already chosen.  If you're into the procedural side of politics at all, it's really amazing to me how differently the two parties caucus.   The democrats all talk and try to convince you to come to their candidate and make deals, etc.   I've only caucused as a Republican once before, but there were speeches by all the candidates, then you break into smaller groups and do a paper vote instead of physically moving into a group and showing who you support.   The Democrats caucuses take hours.  The Repubicans are much quicker.  I didn't live here when I caucused for a republican -  I'll be curious to see if it's the same way here this time.

I have been known to be a defensive caucuser.  I go and vote for the candidate in the other party I fear the least.  I do that in primaries too. LOL

And that's as political as I'm going to get.   Truth is I think we should throw all the elected officials out and start over.

This weekend I REALLY need to clean the house.  I have other things to do, but man, this house needs to be cleaned.  I need to go through my closet and donate a bunch of stuff to charity.   Some things that don't fit I'll keep - I may lose weight sometime, but there are a lot of things I'll never wear again.  It's time to get rid of them.  That's the plan for tomorrow.
