As for the Topic of the Day...

Miou-Miou in "La Lectrice".
Daniel Auteuil in "Un Coeur en Hiver"
Isabelle Huppert in "La Pianiste" ("The Piano Teacher")
Catherine Deneuve in "A Christmas Tale" among many other films

I forgot Auteuil. I loved him in "Jean de Florette" and "Manon."

Back from errands and whatnot, picking up some packages (but not the now way overdue package), lunch, and making CDRs, and now I must be on my way to a paper tech.

TOD - thought I'd mention my favorite actress from PAN AM, Karine Vanasse.  She's actually French Canadian, but I like her a lot.

Hmm, I think ANYTHING GOES should always have a question mark at the end of it.

WARNING:  This post contains graphic descriptions.  Not for the faint of heart! (Well, not really that awful, but bad enough)

Today I am moving around in a somnambulic state.  I had an absolutely horrible night, last night.  While watching the football game last night, I started to notice the onset of shall we say digestive problems.  Trust me when I say that this can be the worst problem imaginable for someone who is not able to walk, let alone run.  By the time the game was over, I had started my journeys back and forth to the bathroom.  These continued every half hour to hour for the entire night.

Sometime around three this morning, while sitting in the bathroom, I moved wrong (I guess) and managed to pinch off a nerve and / or pulled a muscle in my lower back.  Somehow, I managed toe keep from screaming out loud, but the pain added yet another factor to my neverending night.

Somewhere, around 8 or 9 this morning the digestive symtoms disappeared, but the pinched nerve / pulled muscle pain continued.  In order to get some sleep this morning, I had to take a muscle relaxer and eventually a pain pill.  I am now up after three or four hours of solid sleep, but I feel very much like a Zombie.

End of Story!

DR TCB, this is most alarming news!

One of the rising young stars of the Seattle Mariners was murdered today in Rotterdam.  Apparently, his brother has been arrested.

And I was worried about the Macbeths!

Inspired by the release of Clint Eastwood's new film J. EDGAR, I decided to do a music video of my song, "J. Edgar Hoover".

"J. Edgar Hoover" is a song from my musical-comedy, HAIL ON THE CHIEF.  Book and lyrics by me, music by my son, David Druxman, with additional music and lyrics by this guy named Bruce Kimmel, who also performs this vocal.

In the play, the song is sung by a character, Frank Hughes, a veteran, ultra-right wing Secret Service agent who misses the days when Hoover ran the FBI and much of everything else in Washington.

Enjoy!

Thank you, elmore.  It was a very long night.  And I am sure the apartment manager, right below me, wasn't too thrilled either.

Druxy, have you heard the very funny L.A. Theaterworks recording of J. EDGAR! with Kelsey Grammer?

When I was a kid, there used to be a movie theater down on Tacoma's skidrow (Pacific Avenue) called the Cameo.  Now back then, our one and only daily newspaper had no qualms about taking advetising money from porno theaters, so the Cameo's ad always showed up to the other theaters in town from the large first run Temple and Music Box to my neighborhood Proctor Theater.  Every once in a while when I was checking all of the ads for the weekend, I would see that the Cameo was no longer showing VIXEN BOSOMS, but instead was showing Jacques Tati's M. HULOT'S HOLIDAY, or some other Tati title.  I assumed it was just another porno title until I got to college.  I never quite understand why they switched back and forth.
