Elmore, I just bought "Easy Virtue" for $3 at Big Lots and sort of enjoyed it, too. I really wish, though, that people would stop lumping Noel and Cole together on soundtracks like that. Especially when the songs are played as instrumentals, you can tell the vast different in their musical styles.

But I thought the movie could have been a lot worse. And Kristin Scott Thomas deserves some sort of award for allowing herself to be seen in such a completely unflattering light.

She is certainly the bitch mother from hell!

It's in the same vein as those tarting up movies of Wilde's IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST and AN IDEAL HUSBANS.

Good morning, all! I was tormented by several dreams about recording in Ireland, but I would swear I was in Australia, which means that even in my dreams my sense of geography is totally screwed up.

I was leafing through a 1959 TV Guide which had an ad for the RCA Popular Music Club (it did much better than the previous RCA Non-Popular Music Club) and was alerted to a 1959 Mad Magazine album which I have just purchased on eBay.

I had a very rough night last night and can barely keep my eyes open, but seeing as how I'm at work, I probably should try.  After services today we have our Worship Design meeting to finalize Christmas and Epiphany.  After which I shall hie myself home and hopefully sleep for several hours.

MBarnum would probably love the 1959 TV Guide as it sports *several* half page ads of a shirtless Clint Walker, proclaiming him "ready for action."  ;)

His wife was beaming when he answered Hugh's question about why he looked so happy. He said "I love my life and I love my wife."

How sweet!!

After the show, Hugh explained that this is the time of the year that the theatres all raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.  So he started an auction for a meet-and -greet backstage, a photo and his autographed t-shirt (that he had worn on stage).  He started the bidding at $1,000.  The Nancy Pelosi-hater said "let's just make it "10,000."  Hugh looked stunned and said "how about $11,000."  Someone in the mezzanine bid that amount.  So the NP guy said "how about $20,000?"  So Hugh stopped the bidding and someone brought out another t-shirt (from Act 1).  He said he'd like to auction both and wondered whether the bidder in the mezzanine would go for $20,000.  The man said yes, after his wife advised him to.   So he made $40,000 in about 5 minutes.

Today's Favorite Old TV Guide Ad:  "Can these stripes really protect me from careless item pricing?"  A full page ad with a somewhat frightened looking woman holding what looks like a box of Saran Wrap with the "newfangled" technology of a UPC code on the bottom of the box.  The ad goes into quite a bit of detail about how this incredible new convenience works.  :)

DR JANE they've added photos, you won't miss me playing the flute now, lol.

No problem now. :)

Last night I dreamed I joined a band except I was scared they would find out I can't play an instrument.

Later in the series they stopped having him remove his shirt every episode.  It got to be a joke guessing when the "moment" would happen.

DR TCB & I both mentioned he is working & taking less time on the computer for play.  Why not send him a birthday email.

I suspect the thought would have him swooning over the speculations!

As I work, I've listened  to the new recording of the OLO production of THE FORTUNE TELLER: good score, some good singing and some desperate attempts at acting.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We had a dry and sunny, but COLD, trip to Lima and back.  The ladies' guild meeting was postponed to January - happy birthday to me!

Thanks, BK, for the birthday wish in today's notes!
