I'm back from my day in the theatre district. It wasn't nearly as great as yesterday, but still a nice day. I went to the Book of Mormon Lottery. It was really something. You can ask for 1 or 2 tickets on your entry. Well, since there was a winner who only wanted one ticket, the last winner could also only have one ticket. I think three people turned it down because their mate/companion couldn't go. Then the guy called name after name and no one responded! I thought my chances were getting better! Then he called one more and the young woman decided to take one ticket.
So it was over to the TKTS booth. I got a ticket for Chinglish. It was very amusing. It's about an American businessman who's in China trying to make a deal to make signs in English for a small (4 million population) city. The play shows how very different our cultures are. I really enjoyed it, especially the English translations of Chinese that were printed on a screenn above the stage.
