Just purchased the two new releases. I don't usually buy soundtracks, but A Man and A Woman has always been a favorite and I am intrigued by the twofer because of the vocals by Maurice Chevalier and the score by Billy May.

Also got the Melody Hollis CD.

BK

If you are reading this you can send all three together. I can wait for the Melody Cd

Most people won't remember that Davy Jones was the Artful Dodger in the original Broadway production of OLIVER! but is not on the original cast album because Michael Goodman who originate the role recorded the album while the show was still on the road. (L.A. ??) was fired.

DAVY JONES #2

He was the inspiration for the Chekov character on Star Trek. They wanted to add a Russian Character to the show and saw how popular Davy Jones was in the Monkees and decided to go young. If you notice in the first few episodes where Chekov appears he is wear a wig fashioned after Jones' hairstyle in the Monkees show.

DUMB DUMB Observation.

Picked up some Blu Rays and magazines at Barnes and Nobles and the had an audio sampler as a give away!

It was from Seth MacFarlane's cd "Music Is Better Than Words" It has three songs.

First I want to say he is a very enjoyable singer. It wants me to buy the complete CD

BUT WHO WAS THE BONEHEAD

that did not fact check the song credits???!!!

They attribute the composing/lyric writing to "Jimmie Van Heusen" for TWO SLEEP PEOPLE and THE NIGHT THEY INVENTED CHAMPAGNE. The third song is It's Anybody's Spring

First: it would by JIMMY and not JIMMIE.
Second: Frank Loesser (lyrics) and Hoagy Carmichael (music) wrote Two Sleep People.
Third: Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music) wrote the Night They Invented Champagne
Fourth: It's Anybody's Spring was composed by Van Heusen, but JOHNNY BURKE wrote the lyrics.
Fifth: #2 & #3 are attributted to wrong publishing company: BOURNE CO/BURKE & VAN HEUSEN/DORSEY BROTHERS MUSIC.  "Champgne" is owned by  CHAPPELL-CO INC/WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC INC and "...People" is owned by SONY ATV HARMONY

and furthmore I believe Van Heusen was actually billed more formerly as "James" Van Heusen.

But so many errors in just three songs. I'm sure most people would have missed them, but little mistake drive me ARRRRG!!!

Someone will see this and think this information is correct and use it as their part of their own research!!!

For those who aren't on Facebook, DR Danise posted that it has been a very long two days and she can't talk about it until it airs but there is something that is VERY GOOD NEWS.  She asked to pass it along in case she can't get to HHW by phone.   I tried to get the preview to run on Andersoncooper.com, but it won't do it on my computer.   Can't wait to see what happened.

I have set this to record tomorrow.  The show is listed as being on mulitple times.  Since there isn't a blurb about the show I'm not sure I'm recording the correct episode.

Go to Andersoncooper.com   You can put in your zip code and it will tell you when the show airs. The website says it's all about scams tomorrow and describes Danise's situation.

Thanks Cilla except I watch it satellite & not my local channel.  That could explain why it is on so many times though all on the same station.  I'm going to go see if there is a blurb up yet.

Back from a nice lunch with Jrand's friend Adam.  Still weirded out by the locked topic.  It must have been me, but I just can't see how it happened.

I picked up two packages and am now home for the rest of the day and evening.  I do have another set of liner notes to write, so maybe I'll jump on those.

Does this show often do that? Give someone money to fix something?

I've never seen the show.  Other shows fix problems, why not this one.  I would think they would hire people to fix it vs giving her money.  I can't wait to know more.  What times does it air for other people?

Does anybody on this board know an actor who might be good as or might like to do my one-person play on Maurice Chevalier?

Finally, after years of trying, I think I've "cleared" the song rights for this show.  At least, the copyright holders are willing to work with a production, and I feel comfortable enough with the arrangement to proceed.

I'll probably make the book portion available via Amazon within the next 2-3 weeks, so please keep your eyes open for that Frenchman in the straw hat.

Thanks.

 :)

Are you looking for a younger or older Maurice?

Well, I don't watch tv, so I really don't know from any of the television celebrities.
