Well, you've read the notes, the notes were encapsulated, and now it is time for you to post until the capsule cows come home.

We got 7 Brides for 7 Brothers out of the library. Neither of us have ever seen it. I have heard clips from the OSR and seen clips from the movie but never the entire film.

SOYLENT PINK - CHAPTER TWO

'Pink Slime' For Lunch: Schools Can Opt Out Of Ammonia-Treated Ground Beef Filler

Quote

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today that it will offer schools an option between two types of ground meat to purchase for student meals. The move is in response to requests from districts amid a weeks-long firestorm of public outcry against the ammonia-treated cow product.

BEEF' ISN'T EXACTLY BEEF
Schools aren't the only ones affected. According to an ABC News investigation, lean finely textured beef is mixed into 70 percent of ground beef sold in supermarkets across the country -- but meat-packers and grocery stores aren't required by law to include "lean finely textured beef" on package labels because the USDA categorizes it as meat.

"They're calling this a meat; it's not. It's connective tissue and it is a much poorer quality protein even if they treat it, however they may treat it, to make it more digestible or more integrated," Sharon Akabas, associate director of Columbia University's Institute of Human Nutrition, told HuffPost.

"It's economic disclosure; it's an economic fraud issue," Zernstein said. "It's really not so much food safety. Put as much ammonia in it as you want. I don't care. Kill it. It still ends up being low quality, but you at least need to label it so much percent lean finely textured beef ... so I can say, 'I'm broke; it's low quality, but I'll buy it because I'm hungry.' The USDA knows better. Their labeling people blew it."

At least Tofu-Jane has no worries.

I hope you enjoy  "7 Brides." It was a favorite when I was a kid. I got to see the touring production with Howard Keel and Jane Powell when it rolled through Louisville way back when. I enjoyed that, too, though even I knew they were a bit long in the tooth by that time. Ah, the magic of wigs and makeup.

Today is going to be fairly empty at work. Most people were gone for spring break this week and others were taking this day off. I have a feeling only us contractors will be in the building.

TOD:

CD - The Fuzzy Pink Nightgown....a very fun score....and lots of photos of Jane Russell & Ralph Meeker.

DVD - My Week With Marilyn.....it was okay....and Williams was okay, but there is only ONE Marilyn....and I think the influence of Paula Strasberg was really treated in too light a manner.....the Strasbergs crippled Marilyn's acting....   As Stella Adler said when Lee Strasberg kicked the bucket:  It will take one hundred years to undo the harm he has done.

Good morning, all! I got a lot of sleep last night, which was good and very much needed. I have a lot of errands today to run, beginning at Toyland and working my way north.

We've encountered a problem with the Finale template/files/God-knows-what for the full score of the Act Two Finale of DEAREST ENEMY that concerns me. It will not convert to a pdf file, so it cannot be sent to me to print out. I am most distressed by this turn of events. Six numbers to go and this occurs. This project of rebuilding the score and vocal score is cursed. I hope it doesn't forebode ill for the recording.

I have no other news.

TOD:
DVD: Year of the Carnivores, several operas
CD:  Dearest Enemy (VLOG ootlegbay), ONCE (OBC), Irish pub songs, Guy Haines
  VCR: Three guesses
