Good morning, all! I slept quite poorly, but that seems my status quo most of the time and I am not happy about it.  I have absolutley no memories of any dreams, but I slept fitfully, was wide awake around 3:30, had a splitting headache around 5:00, and dragging myself wearily out of bed at 7:45 seemed the best option.

Today, more work on the ROBERTA "Wardrobe Scene," possibly a messenger delivery of the final masters of the Herbert songs to be approved, and whatever fresh hell arrives from Dublin or other environs today.

I fear this will put us into Cinemascope, but the Herbert songs have landed on Amazon:
www.amazon.com/Victor-Herbert-Collected-various-artists/dp/B007MEVJJI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332936437&sr=8-1-spell

I have placed this on my wish list. Looks really good.

BK re types of ereaders. I am not sure how popular KOBO is in the US. But it is the main ereader in Canada and popular in some other parts of the world. There is a huge Kobo store. Kobos ae what are huge bookchain CHAPTERS sells. They are everywhere here.Although like I said I really do not know how many people in the US use them.
I have a friend with a Kobo who will be pleased to note that they are tied to a successful chain. She was worried about support if she ever needed it.

Off to the library - bye for now!

ASK BK

Would it be alright to buy a copy of the new book and have it signed at a reading?  Or is that unseemly?  What if I bought an additional (different) book at the store?

And how is it happen that there are vendors on Amazon who are selling used copies at inflated prices?

I've been trying to get the Dublin boys on casting availability since Feb, and I think we will not get Ovenden because he's got another offer for August. Dammit.

I ordered the two CD's, so I guess I won't be getting my book for awhile.....I shall wait.

Not being clear here - your book went out yesterday with the others - only people who ordered book and CDs in ONE order have to wait.  You made two separate orders - one for the book, one for the CDs.

ASK BK

What is Vinnie "What's my nickname this time" Cirrilli up to these days?

As I believe I say in the book, he operates the Pro Tools machines for many of the biggest film score recordings - he's busy all the time.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Who pays the actors' royalties for television shows?  The service/network broadcasting the reruns or the production company?

It's usually the network that's running the shows in reruns.  Because a lot of production companies of the older shows are obviously not around.  So, it's whoever actually owns them and usually the licensing deals, I think, require the network to pay all the resids.

I don't think it would be good to do that at Mystery and Imagination - they live on their sales at these signings.  You could call them and speak to Malcolm or Christine and tell them you couldn't wait to get the book on amazon and that you'd like to bring it for me to sign and that you'll be happy to make another purchase there - see what they say.  They're super nice.  The off-site vendors at amazon do whatever they like - they're all getting the same books from the same place.  I did notice that amazon has both softcover and hardcover at very good prices - don't even know how they do that.  Certainly I can't when I purchase them from the publisher.

That's great!  It's in my "Saved for Later" list.  I'll place the order when it gets closer to the release date. :)

I am totally lost.

I see the terms have been explained.

DR Jennifer, I do enjoy YA & would like to read more of it than I do.

The term dystopian is a new for me & I'm not sure I've read any YA books that fit it.  I've read adults ones that do.
