Hi all.   Sorry for not posting last night.  i was so tired I went to bed very early.

Many thanks to Dr George for the DVD's.  I gave one to the finance guy for our retirement fund down at work.  I was asking him questions about the best thing to do about the money when I get it.  Got some good advise about that and on some other matters.

I found out that if i want the room I will have to pay $500.00 for the stamp/seal and I have to pay for the room to be drawn by an architect and all the permits.  Someone told me it could total a couple thousand.  Thank goodness I'll be getting that money from Frigidare.  I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Turner left several permits open so those will have to taken care of as well.  I was so upset because they will have to be moved to Sergios name.  I'm just so worried that there will be something Turner didn't do and somehow it will be on Sergios record.  That would not be right.  I can't stand the thought that someone who trying to help me might get hurt for something that monster did or did NOT do.

Dr Elmore, thank you for the Michael Ball email!  :)  I haven't had time to watch it yet but I will.

Vibes to all who need them.

DR TCB I'm so glad you got the phone.  I hope it works well for you.

Sergio?

He's the contractor that is over the project.

DR Danise I wouldn't worry too much about the permits.  The new contractor should fix any error's the old one made. I'm not sure it is a terrible blight on a contractor's name if they don't pass inspection.  They will just be requested to fix any problems and it shouldn't be a big deal.  That's my take on it from personal experience.
I hope so.  I just don't trust anything Turner did.

I doubt Sergio and team won't trust him either.

Cooking class canceled because the pig had been in the freezer too long and was mealy. The poor instructor was so embarrassed. I tried to tell him it was better that he canceled because the quality wasn't right, but he was still upset. He said he cried when he cut into it.

I told him to write it up for me and explain what could go wrong for people. It was a little fresh, but I think he'll do it next week when he can begin to laugh at it a little.

In light of "Once," which I don't own, I decided to watch that other Irish musical, "The Commitments," which I do but hadn't watched since somebody gave to me as a present. I'm enjoying it much more than when I saw it at the movie theater.

Went to the club.  The layout is a little peculiar to me and I'm hoping I can figure out the best way to play it.  I have to be comfortable - then again, I wasn't comfortable at Vitello's till our second show, so hopefully that will happen here.  The sound tests were not to my liking either, but I gave my thoughts and hopefully they will be addressed by Sunday - if not, I will be as strong as I need to be to get it the way I want.  Lighting is better than Vitello's.  Digital grand piano is just weird and funnily that may end up being the deal breaker.  We'll see how our MD feels about it.

Watched the second hour of Mad Men - when the power went out the other night, it was at the fifty-minute mark - I had no idea they did a two-hour opener - and of those two hours, I'd say about three minutes held my interest - what an AWFUL premiere show.  The two years off did nobody any good.  And now Jon Hamm is a producer?

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  I'm listening to an absolutely divine CD - it's been sitting in a pile for five months.  Robert Farnon and his orchestra playing songs of Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis.  This is the kind of easy listening album I grew up loving.

Can't remember if it was Jennifer who asked if the new book was on Kobo - yes it is.

I just finished watching the 1963 version of "Jason and the Argonauts."  I taped it off TCM a couple of weeks ago.  I hadn't seen it in years and I'd never seen it in hi-def.  It was thoroughly entertaining!  Even though the special effects aren't that special anymore, it just seemed so much more "real" than modern movies.  There weren't any over-the-top action sequences that just went on for forever.  There wasn't wall-to-wall "mood" music telling me what to feel.  When they were in the narrow sea passage and the other ship was crushed by falling rocks, there was no background music at all.  To me, that actually helped enhance the tension of the situation that they were in.  I even made my own DVD of it (even though that's not in hi-def).

I just remember that I have The Fantastic Films of Ray Harryhausen, which includes "Jason and the Argonauts" so I didn't need to make another copy.  Oh, well.  I think that my sister has the set, though.

Have you been watching the new SiFi Channel show "Monster Man" that deals with using practical effects for modern-day monster movies?

This is the kind of easy listening album I grew up loving.

Could anything ever replace the mono "101 Strings" albums I grew up with?
