Oh....I watched SMASH last night, and it was okay.  I like the "show" parts of the show.  There was one kind of transcendent moment last night when Anjelica Huston sang "September Song" in a bar......

And I will admit that Mess Messing was funny in her scene when everyone was complaining about the downer ending of the show....."She died....."

I also liked it when Anjelica sang "September Song".  I thought that was a nice touch.

My parents took me to see Rich Little when I was, well, little.  It was some sort of private function, there weren't very many people there.  But I remember at one point he hopped off the piano and almost landed on the mic stand and said in his Johnny Carson voice, "Whew, I almost did a little Wayne Newton for you!"  :)

I managed to make it through childhood without ever reading or hearing of Maurice Sendak. So, I only have impressions of him as an adult. I appreciate what he tried to do -- and I think he accomplished it with quite a few kids -- but I more respect than admire his work.

One of our boys' favorite nighttime stories growing up was Sendak's THE MIAMI GIANT.

Oh I thought I was watching Lance Bass on tv....but it turns out it's Ricky Martin ding a numbre from EVITA on THE VIEW.  I think he is lip synching....surely he doesn't do that in the show.....they are doing "The Money Keeps Rolling In."

DR JohnG, your scripts went out today.

A music dealer came to the McGlinnventory today and, while we were hoping they'd give us $10,000 and take everything, they spent around $650.

I received a screener and presskit that had been doused in patchouli (don't ask me).  I am highly sensitive (and not in a good way) to patchouli.  I have been feeling really ill since bringing the stupid thing in from the mail yesterday.  I could have never been a hippie.  :)

In better news, both the furnace and water heater have been passed by the HVAC people.  Repairs will be made by Friday, and then all I'll have to do is the chimney sweeping and carpet cleaning before new owners should hopefully be satisfied.

Here's my entry:

No, I had him!
His throat was there beneath my hand.
I had swear I had him!
His throat was there and now he'll never come again.

TOD:

My wife and I were on a cruise, and there was this one comedy act aboard that was definitely the worst thing I've ever seen.

It was a young guy; don't recall his name.  It was a very physical act, lots of running, jumping and falling down.

The rest of the audience was laughing at the guy, but we just sat in the front row stone-faced.

Perhaps if we'd had a few drinks....

The oaf is still after his undeserved recognition today! I thought the New World reply would cool his jets, but I guess he's fighting for a battle. Oy!

I'm up and have been so since nine-thirty - at least I got eight hours - had the telephonic device not rung I probably would have slept until ten or ten-thirty.  Early lunch in thirty minutes.

Or which Lindsay is next, after George and Mort?
