tonight o got myself out of the office as I wanted to go to the high school to watch the final concert of the year - a bunch of the Vixter's friends in chorus, orchestra and band were performing for the last time

It was a good concert and as always it ended with "Walk Tall" sung by the graduating senior -- not a dry eye inthe house

Chas Smith I loved Howard Johnson's I didn't know there were any left - when I was a kid it was the height of luxury when as a kids on car trips my folks would spring for a blueberry pancake breakfast at HoJo's instead of having us eat cereal from the snack packs boxes while sitting in the back of the station wagon

That reminds me, BK, I saw something on the innerweb yesterday which showed an old 1920s or 30s photo of a strange diner shaped like an airplane which was where Dupar's on Ventura now is.

94th Aero Squadron. World War I aeronautical motif. There was (is?) one at Van Nuys Airport, and at a few other spots around the country. I'm under the impression some of them are still around, but I need to look it up. Fun place to relax and eat and drink and be around planes. If you're into that sort of thing. I am, having gotten my private pilot license at VNY in the late 70s. (Not my late 70s, the twentieth century's late 70s.)
