Darn. I think they got deleted some time ago.

I took my then teenage daughter to Las Vegas to see Forever Plaid several years ago. We had always been fascinated by the tackiness of casino carpets. Well, we had the whole day to kill before showtime. So to keep busy, we decided to see how many different casino carpets we could photograph in a day. Kept us busy.

I am delighted to say that a Google search brings up a good number of 94th Aero Squadron locations, including Van Nuys:

http://www.94thvannuys.com/94thvannuys/

They all seem to have their own web page.

After we wore out casino carpets, we moved on to ceilings, light fixtures, and I believe doorknobs.

Are they similar to traditional movie theater lobby carpets, that kind of thing?

Does anyone have the CD of Carmelina - I don't know the score at all - that and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue - looking for a few interesting songs from those shows and need suggestions.  I'd have to assume there's something decent in Carmelina since it's Burton Lane.

1600 Pennsylvannia Ave:
I have the concert version (White house Cantana) and I have a recording of the original Broadway cast Ken Howard and Patricia Routledge. Not sure at what point the recording was made, but I think it was before the official opening.

Carmelina really has only three good songs in the score. One More Walk Around the Garden (Great male Trio), Why Him? (Carmelina) and Time For A Love Song (Male lead)

I have a version of Judy Kaye doing Duet For One from 1600 Pennsylvannia Ave and a few other cover versions of various songs from the show

I had a very scary blow out years ago.  I was in my 20s and had a really dangerous older car, a station wagon I had bought for $100 that probably shouldn't have been on the road.  My parents had driven up from SLC and I had met them on the Oregon Coast.  I was driving back very late in order to be home to go to work the next day and was probably going around 90 mph (hey, I was young) when my rear tire blew.  I almost lost control of the car but managed to bring it over to the side of the road.   I knew I had a spare in the back but I found out there was no jack.  There was a farmhouse up the road and I walked up there and knocked on their door and asked them if they had a jack I could borrow.  They did, I changed my tire, and drove SLOWLY home.  :)

I thought you said "A very dangerous car, a stolen wagon"

And don't forget the transit of Venus across the sun at about 6 p.m. EDST.

I didn't either, but I can unfortunately count on doing so a couple of times a year.

No P.T. for me tomorrow.  I have come down with a very painful bladder infection.

G'night

Tonight two professors from Morningside College had telescopes set out so we could view the Venus transit.  It was fun.  Not like the glorious NASA photos, but it was fun.  They even gave us a free constellation chart and had make it yourself sundials for the kids

What kept going through my head was "God save Venus, I just saw the Queen....no wait God Save the Queen, I just saw Venus"  I have no idea why it was going through my head, but it wasn't spiders or damselflies eating other flies :)

Then I watched the Queen's concert.

I forgot about it.  I'm found out that it's being rebroadcast on Saturday.  I'll watch and/or record it then.
