In the Wow! They Actually Released
That Department, Amazon has
this. This album has haunted me since my sister got it one day after hearing the group on The Mike Douglas Show. It's also the album that prompted BK's famous comment of "I would never write a song with a missing "g" at the end," when I noticed "Driftin'" on the album was written by B. Kimmel (Bobby, it turns out). I highly recommend this to anyone who likes/liked The Mamas & The Papas or Free Design.
BK, you should get it just for the liner notes--you will love the details about late sixties L.A.'s recording scene. Several synchronicities for you, too, including Dinah Shore and Stu Phillips.
Interestingly, I was so fascinated by this album I managed to track down Perry Botkin, Jr, who contributes absolutely insanely Baroque orchestrations. He had absolutely no memory of the dates--it was just another job for him. The liner notes, written by one of the surviving members, talk about the album being partially written at Botkin's Laurel Canyon A-frame. Funny.
