THE DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS
« on: July 18, 2012, 12:30:31 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes danced but with only two veils, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently doing the Dance of the Seven Veils and it's udderly delightful.

Good morning, all! I will be off to Toyland shortly. I need to begin sorting things for this (hopeful) move on Friday, and I want to be at the office to deal with any possible emergencies.  At least things are now moving toward accomplishing this evacuation and move-in by August 1, and I hope it all continues smoothly.

On a more excting newsfront, I learned this morning that Stephen Rea, who starred in THE CRYING GAME, will be our General George Washington for DEAREST ENEMY. I am very excited about this.  August 11 is looming nearer. Yesterday I asked one of our fantastic copyists to make a slight change in the scores and parts for one of Kim Criswell's numbers, so I have to deal with those fixes as well today.

I think that's all of my news. I will check in from Toyland.

It's already in the high 80s and it's not even 7am.

It's supposed to break tomorrow.

I can't wait.

Great news about Stephen Rea. I didn't know he was a singer.

No song, big dialogue scene in the Finale Ultimo.

Nice to see Mr. Harvey Evans in the notes today after seeing him in yesterday's posts.

Ask BK:

So, you mentioned not liking the tacked-on narration in "Body Snatchers." Do you think that there ought to be some way to see the movie without the narration? Or should that be up to the director? And what should happen, if the director has died or otherwise can't make the decision?

You and me both!

It's time to get ready to leave. I've been sending emails and attachments to Dublin.  Hopefully, our actor Karl Harpur, who is wonderful as the two villains on EILEEN, will be able to record a couple of spoken parts in Dublin as well. He's in a flurry of activity since he's relocating to Los Angeles, where his cousin Colin Egglesfield is doing well with tv work.

The weather hasn't been quite as wet over the past few days. It seems there is a gradual improvement and we can expect summer weather by the weekend - just in time for the Olympics.

Wednesday.

And we return to our regular performance schedule this evening for "The Curious Savage."

Four more, counting tonight.

Then it's on to my three small parts in "Thoroughly Modern Millie".....and hopefully a part in "See How They Run" which I will audition for on Sunday.

Congrats on Stephen Rea, elmore. Does that make George Washington some kind of deux ex machina in the script?

Exactly so. He comes to thank Mrs Murray and Betsy for helping the American troops in 1776 and to deliver Betsy a thank you gift: the British prisoner of war she loves. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

After all the epic excitement of last night, I didn't fall asleep until 4:00am.  And here we are.  Can't believe it's Wednesday, so much more to do before Sunday.

My question for ASK BK DAY today:  Do you often get recognized as a celebrity in public?

Thanks for the vibes! Please keep 'em rolling.

The situation is fraught again, thanks to someone I cannot mention who has now gummed up what seemed to be going smoothly. My colleague Curtis assures me that all is going as planned with Mayflower Movers, so I hope he is right!
