I had some onion soup for lunch which i had frozen. I think that was the first time I had frozen onion soup. It took quite a while to defrost. But it actually tasted pretty good.

I left in the fridge overnight.

Then I just put it in a pot on the stove until it was ready to eat.

Called our dear friend this morning to wish him a happy birthday.  We wish we were closer to celebrate with him.  His siblings, including Bruce's high school classmate & the soon to be mother in-law of Leslie Odom Jr, were on there way over for a birthday breakfast.  Then they are all going to see the James Bond movie.  It would have been fun.

At first I thought you meant "our friend" as in HHW, and I wondered why you didn't mention their name.  I figured it out.  Birthday vibes to your friend.

I had to read this a couple of times-  at first I thought you ate the soup while it was still frozen!!

I didn't know you could hide posts from people on Facebook.  I can think of a few thousand political posts I would have liked to have hidden from me!

You could have hidden the biggest offender's until after the election.  I don't know how to hide a post from someone but I do know other's who have hidden a person while talking about a surprise for the them.  Every other fb friend knew what was going on except the one person who was hidden.

That is good to know.  I will have to check it out.  Or quit Facebook.  One or the other.

Our church collected cleaning supplies  for the Sandy victims - we also collected work gloves, socks, batteries, and those large contractor bags

When I suddenly disappeared before it was because I had gotten a call that were going to bring the supplies over to a sister congregation in Lindenhurst

We brought the van over - loaded with mops, buckets, bleach (lots of bleach) bags etc.  When we got there were asked if we would mind  bringing  it down to the areas that were hardest hit rather than unloading it at the other church's comfort station  so off we went

I have greatly reduced my dairy.  I used to cook way too much with cheese.

People  are living in homes with no power or heat  (14 days now)  and no immediate prospect of any as their houses were flooded

there are huge piles of things everywhere - stuff they are trying to dry out and salvage and stuff that  is just garbage now

we just drove up  and down the neighborhood in the van and would ask if they needed any cleaning supplies - word would spread down the block and people would come  and we would hand stuff out-- they were overjoyed to be given   a gallon of bleach and a clean mop and bucket

when they found out that we also had  contracter bags  they were so grateful - the area this is in is not close to any store s-  many of them still do not have working  cars (as they were also submerged) or they don't have the gas and could not go out and waiting  on gas lines because they are busy trying to get all the rapidly molding  wet stuff out of their homes - also they were afraid to leave thier homes for an extended period of time as  their are looters who are ripping copper pipes out and grabbing all the metal they can  to sell as scrap

they have had to enforce a curfew in the area from 5 PM to dawn to try and keep the looters out -  but now ot seems that soem, of the looters are coming ion  by boat and sneaking in that way (all these homes are on  or just off canals)
