TOD:
I was NOT born to shop. Not any day of the year. There was a time, however, when I enjoyed spending the day after T Day to shop for Christmas cards and browse the boutiques in Old Town Alexandria. That was nice. I'd often run into friends, I'd stop for lunch, and just have a very pleasant few hours.

Shopping has changed so much over the past few years that I don't even know where to shop for many items. Christmas cards, for example. I found some last year at Staples, but need more sources! It saddens me that the poor economy has wiped out so many small shops.

One year I was trying to do some grocery shopping on Black Friday, but forgot that I'd have to drive past a popular shopping mall. Ooops! I try not to even do that now.

A shame about BK's pumpkin pie. I was about to ask how it was packaged. I wonder if some of the mail-order places avoid certain food items because they don't expect them to ship well.

I've been watching THE EAGLE, a Danish crime series. I find it very well done. I don't believe I've seen any other Danish TV shows.

I've also been watching season 2 of the new UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS. I'm really enjoying it. A lot happens in each episode, I love the sets, but I miss Eileen Atkins. I find it a lush production overall.

Mega healing vibes to Cilla's friend Sharon. What a sad and frightening story.

I am going to see Mary Poppins the musical tomorrow! It got a very good review.

Are you taking your nieces to see the show?

I'm going with my sister and my older niece (7). My younger niece is only 3. I'm not even sure she's ever been to the movies (maybe once). And with the prices they charge my sister decided not to take her.

DR Cilla when you mentioned putting a gown, etc on I thought it was for Sharon's protection.  I didn't imagine she would still be contagious  :o

I hope the friend who feinted won't stay away for good.  Obviously you have a stronger disposition ;)
I'm very excited for you finally getting to see her.

Sharon's attitude it fantastic.  I'm sure she also has her dark moments as well.  Will this upcoming surgery be her last?  I hope so.

VIBES SHE WILL GO TO A TOP NOTCH REHAB HOSPITAL!!

Sharon looks fine and is very modest so the girl who fainted didn't see anything, she just heard about it.  That's pretty squeemish if you ask me

I just realized I forgot to go to the client's wedding reception, now I feel like a heel

Oh no!!  You can say you were at the hospital.

That's what I'm planning to do.  I think I'll send a card with a gift certicate somewhere and my apologies

I am very squeemish when people tell me about things like that.  I have never fainted, but I have gotten a little dizzy.  Strangely when it is something on my own body, like when I almost lost my right leg to the MRSA, I am not squeemish at all.

Watching a wonderful Brit motion picture at the moment, and I suppose I'll brave watching Brave - really the first Pixar movie I had no interest in seeing.

What are they showing instead?  Another Celtic Thunder performance?

No, and I know one of the guys in Celtic Thunder! It's a Doo-wop night.

It is indeed a pledge night. They're giving the hard sell on the break at the moment.  I swear, Channel 13 has one of these drives every month.

Two Kentucky transparent pies in the oven. After they're done, I think I'm going to go out dancing. Haven't done that in a while.

I am not sure that I know what a Doo-wop group is like.  Personally, I love Celtic Thunder.  If I wasn't in this stupid chair, I would be going to their concert this week.

Cathy is incredible in the show.  Her big number in the second Act, with the Indians, is fantastic.  Any other 59 year old would be dead by the end of that number.

The Drifters was a Doo-wop group.

Also, the Earls, The Diamonds, The Edsels, The Mystics, the Moonglows. On Channel 13, I just heard "On Broadway" and "Up on the Roof."
