I must say, that gal who feinted at the hospital must have been very brave to go in the first place.  She must know how sensitive she is.

I'm not sure if she knows or not. She's someone who tends to act then think

I haven't made a pie crust.  Actually I rarely make pie. My mom always got the frozen crusts.  They came two in a pack so mom would make 1 pie and we'd bake the other and cover it in cinnamon sugar...yummy

I can't either. She doesn't talk about not having an arm, except to worry if she'll be able to get a prosthetic arm under Obamacare.  She has more empathy with her husband and son who had to make the decision to allow the doctors to take off her arm to save her life

I bought 1/2 a pumpkin pie at Hy-Vee, a grocery store with a good bakery.  It was very good

Finished with my viewing and will now go to Gelson's for a brief moment to see if there's some low-cal something for me to nibble on.

DR John, if you happen to check in here again tonight; Brent says he will be Hooked in San Antonio.
Many thanks. May have to get a ticket.

Cathy is incredible in the show.  Her big number in the second Act, with the Indians, is fantastic.  Any other 59 year old would be dead by the end of that number.
I love "Uga-Wuga Vigwam" or however you spell it. I think it's my favorite in the score. Even if some deem the lyrics less than PC>

You must not be from the South, Miss Vixmom. Honey, they are just wonderful. Kinda like a buttermilk pie only sweeter, Sugar.

Dancing was a lot of fun. I need to get back into going again. Strangely, though, not a single waltz was played all evening.

Good morning, all! The ticklish throat I thought yesterday afternoon was allergies was a full fledged cold by 8pm last night. Today, I am home, staying in bed and sleeping as much as I can. I hope I can shake this thing quickly.

I decided to get out of bed for a bit to help the circulation. Checking my emails, I had to raise hell with Amazon because a shipment I've been expecting was returned to them. On Thirsday, Amazon sent me anemail telling me a delivery attempt had been made and I was not home,soI sent the shipper an email saying I'dbe around all day Friday. No delivery. So,I checked tracking ro learn that delivery attempts were supposedly made last Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Curiously, the delivery person left no notification of any delivery attempt and nowmy shipment hasbeen returned. I sent cordial but strongly worded emails to both Amazon and shipper saying thnk you and screw you.

If anyone needs me, I'll be sipping peppermint tea and watching DVDs today.

Amazon just wrote back that they are sending a second shipment via overnight delivery for Monday at No Charge and forwarding my complaint about the delivery service to their shipping dept. Fantastic!

Very good news, Larry!

Today, I was going to go to work to make up a couple of hours, but my friend Margo called, asking if I wanted to go to lunch and a movie with her and her friend Marsha.  I said, "Sure!" :D We went to Red Robin for lunch and then we saw "Skyfall."  We all actually enjoyed it.  I didn't "love" it (it was all over the top), but fun.

After that, I went to see a local production of "Night Must Fall," directed by my friend Pug.  It was pretty good.  A couple of friends of mine were in it, and the stage manager and assistant stage manager performed those duties for "Titus," so it was fun catching up a bit.  A long and fun day was had by me. :D

Found a copy of Ken Bloom's "Hollywood Musicals: The 101 Greatest Song-and-Dance Movies of All Time," the sequel to, what else?,  "Broadway Musicals."

Well, you're meant to take exception to some of the movies included and, more likely, some that aren't. I think "The Pirate" has a place on the list, and an argument could be made for "It's Always Fair Weather" and "Hallelujah, I'm a Bum." He includes "Good Mr. Chips," but then takes the songs and the performances of them to task, saying it's included only because it's dramatically effective.

But the biggest disappointment is the poor copy editing and even worse proof reading. Words are misspelled left and right. It seems that if Bloom went back to revise a sentence, both versions ended up in print.

I've heard a couple of talking books where that's happened...the actor has corrected himself and continued with the recording, but the editor didn't take out the mistake.
