A very happy birthday to our very own one and only DR MBarnum!

Thanks DR ChasSmith. They wanted to clone me, but I said no. I wanted to be the one and only.

A most happy birthday cake day to DR Michael Barnum

Thanks DR Mike. I don't know if I will get cake today, but I do know there is some berry pie in my future...and actually it is sitting on my kitchen counter.

My weekend was long and ended on a really sour note.  I need to get my bearings and get moving forward again.  I'll catch up when I have time later today.

TOD:

I can't recall what movies I saw in the theater this year. I know I saw a couple of cartoon films that I took my grand-niece and nephew to, but they were nothing memorable.

There are a few films I wanted to see, but just didn't take the time to go out and see them. I do hope to see LIFE OF PI next weekend.

I also thought the TAR finale was most excellent.  It would not have bothered me if the first and second place teams were reversed - but the team that won was certainly worthy of the win.

A very good season of TAR.....and I hope the second place team will return for an ALL STAR season sooner or later....  The 4th place team really had some good things to say about themselves and certainly took ALL of the blame for their loss on themselves - which doesn't always happen on TAR.....

I heard they changed it to Christmas Day. And I'm sticking with that.

Watched the latest Outside Box and really enjoyed it, but I think it could have done without the leper musical number. Maybe because it didn't have Kevin Symons or Damon Kirsche. But I see that other people enjoyed it. I guess that's what makes chariot races.

a) Kevin is in The Leper Colony number in several reaction shots.  b) there was no way not to do a leper colony number if you're doing Ben-Hur as a musical.

I am home from Toyland, the chicken is cooking with a lot of chopped celery, garlic and onion.  In about two hours I'll remove it frm the pot and strain the broth. Meanwhile I'll be peeling and chopping potatoes and carrots.

The apartment smells wonderful.

Last night DR Jane wrote:

Don't know, guess iPad doesn't want him to use the competition.  He can read books we purchase from B & N, just not buy them directly to the iPad.  Like my library app on my Nook, the quality of reading them isn't as good and you can't "turn" the pages like a regular book.

I am confused. So he can use the ipad to read the books from B & N. But he cannot buy them directly from his ipad? Obviously it would be preferable if he could buy them directly from his ipad. But as long as he can read them on his ipad why is that a problem?  I find it much easier (and almost always) buy my ebooks on my computer and send them to my kindle vs buying them on my actual kindle.

Do you always buy your B & N books right from your nook?

Also what do you mean "you can't turn the pages like a regular book"?

He can purchase books directly on his iPad, just not from Barnes & Noble.  If I also want to read the book he will purchase it from B & N off his computer or I will buy it from my Nook & then we can share it.  He prefers not to read through the B & N app on his iPad as the quality isn't as good on his iPad, yet his library app works better than mine does on my Nook.  It is all rather frustrating that they aren't equal.

The iPad, and now my new Nook HD have animation (?) that looks as if your are turning the pages like one does with a regular book.  My old Nook, and when I read through my library app, or Keith reads through his B & N app, has a flat page turner.  The animated turner also turns more easily & feels more natural to use.

DR DRUXY are you going back to see the doggie today?

They are bringing the dog back to our house on Saturday and leaving him for a few hours.  Having the current owners there was a bit of a distraction.

If we do take the dog, it won't be until just after the first of the year.  The dog will have been in a kennel for 3-4 days, so when we go to pick him up, he will feel (hopefully) that we've saved him.
