The "Show Tunes" channel on TV lists some interesting things.  Currently listening to THE GAME by Stephen Sondheim from SHOW BOAT.

Sondheim wrote SHOWBOAT? He must have been very young.
He was really prescient. He wrote it before he was born.

A genius.

I was thinking of seeing Cheyenne Jackson at the Kennedy Center tonight, but decided not to.  I didn't feel like heading back to DC.  Of course, if it had been one of the "B's," I wouild have done it.

Hell, with the money you have paid to see them, they should show up at your house.

DR Cillaliz, you seem to have had a lovely stay-cation!

It's been great.  Interestingly every day since I didn't get the judicial position, I've run into one of my clients who has gone out of his or her way to tell me thank you.  It's been so cool and makes me thankful I didn't get the job and can continue doing what I'm doing

This may be a sign that this is what you are meant to be doing  now

I saw it as a win-win: You get a great new job or you keep a great not-so-old job.

I'm beginning to fade. J.B. is beginning to fade. All but the people setting off fireworks in the street are beginning to fade.

So, good night, all.

And happy new year, everyone!

I see KevinH - perhaps he'll join in the merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.  Maybe if we talk about the two B's - Brent and Barbra.

This is a perfect opportunity to encourage everyone to see The Guilt Trip--you'll love it!

That's one B down.

Okay, Mr. B's show at 54 Below, which was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy, has been rescheduled to Feb. 20th.  Why does it have to be on a Wednesday?

Because the 21 is a Thursday.
Thank you for using logic to make the rest of understand this.

I thought it was a word problem - like if you have three apples and John has three pears how many fruit tarts can you make?

I say TCB  gets an A+

I wonder if Jack in the Box still has a breakfast sandwich called (I think) the Crescent Supreme.  Eggs, ten kinds of meat, several kinds of cheese...

Yes, they do, but I think they changed the name.

We don't have any Jack In the Box restaurants here anymore  we had  quite a few in the 70's and early 80's but they all closed when they had that salmonella  problem and a couple of kids died -  I didn't know the chain still existed  at all

I hear some premature fireworks.

Premature fireworks.  Reminds me of my youth.  Which you can all read about in my next book, SVEN KRITZER.

Did I mention yesterday that I spent the afternoon with Sharon?   We had a great time

Only that you planned to.  A great time, fantastic!

I stayed about 3 hours or so.  In her words she's not doing "great" she's doing very good and is getting better all the time.  She won't be doing great until she can walk out and go home.    That should be in a couple weeks.  We talked and talked and talked.  It was really fun.

iam so glad she is able to move ahead -  what a traumatic event

She's totally beat the infection, just lots of rehab.  She still may lose a toe or two, but the color is starting to come back so she may still save them

It seems to be alive and well in California.

In fact, the first one I ever went to is still there, looking the same!

(Fairfax, across from the May Company building and just north of Johnnie's -- which I actually ate in.)
