Did I mention yesterday that I spent the afternoon with Sharon?   We had a great time

Only that you planned to.  A great time, fantastic!

I stayed about 3 hours or so.  In her words she's not doing "great" she's doing very good and is getting better all the time.  She won't be doing great until she can walk out and go home.    That should be in a couple weeks.  We talked and talked and talked.  It was really fun.

Did you know how prescient Stephen Schwartz was?  In Pippin he wrote the following line in No Time at All: Now sages tweet that age is sweet.  He predicted Twitter forty years before it came into existence.  Pretty good.

I didn't know herbs could tweet on twitter

You know, they allow anyone these days.

Yes, I left the egg out of my rundown of ingredients. Cilantro, too.

I love the first part of HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, especially the songs.  However, once he meets up with the ballerina and her husband, I truly despise the rest of the film.  [SPOILER ALERT!]  When Farley Granger locks Danny Kaye in the closet, and leaves him there so that he misses the ballet, I just about lose it.  And then the ballerina and her husband laugh it off.  [END OF SPOILER ALERT]  That is when the whole film becomes nasty, meanspirited, humiliating, and Yes, even smarmy.

Other than that, the film is fine.  And it is a dumb ballet.

And Laurence Olivier was not in the closet with him.

Happy New Year's Eve!   I had a wonderful afternoon and got to meet 5 great kids that I helped come to the USA from Somalia via Kenya.   They gave me thank you cards and a beautiful shawl/scarf.  We all met at an ice cream shop and had a great time.  They are some of the nicest and most polite kids (4th grade-10th grade) that I've ever met.  It was a joy to spend time with them

That sounds wonderful!

It was wonderful.  I may post a photo tomorrow, haven't decided.  I didn't ask them if it was ok if I shared the photos, but they wanted them and I sent them all the photos I took, so I think they may be sharing them, so it's probably ok

She didn't use soup in the meatloaf - my memory is we mooshed together the ground beef with egg and onions and ketchup - I helped occasionally to do the mooshing and my memory is pretty good.  I simply never remember bread crumbs or soup.

DR Cillaliz, you seem to have had a lovely stay-cation!

It's been great.  Interestingly every day since I didn't get the judicial position, I've run into one of my clients who has gone out of his or her way to tell me thank you.  It's been so cool and makes me thankful I didn't get the job and can continue doing what I'm doing

Well, that movie "49th Parallel" that I watched the other day had the most peculiar opening. A very gay eskimo is talking to a trapper about another trapper who turns out to be Laurence Olivier. The first shot we see of Laurence is of him in a bathtub, grabbing some sort of animal skin that he proceeds to rub between his legs. Then he stands up and plays the rest of the scene (shot from the waist up) as he's dripping wet. The gay eskimo just titters in the background. But then they beat up Nazis -- or try to, at least.

I see KevinH - perhaps he'll join in the merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.  Maybe if we talk about the two B's - Brent and Barbra.

This is a perfect opportunity to encourage everyone to see The Guilt Trip--you'll love it!

That's one B down.

Okay, Mr. B's show at 54 Below, which was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy, has been rescheduled to Feb. 20th.  Why does it have to be on a Wednesday?

Because the 21 is a Thursday.
