I believe my sister made Harper's outfit, by the way.

Oh wow. So cute. I love the outfit too!

TOD:

WARM-AIR HAND DRYERS

Does anyone like them? They are awful. Noisy; take ages to dry your hands; not as efficient as towels; studies have shown they are not as hygenic as towels. They are a backward step and are only installed because they are cheaper - not because they are better.

I hate them.  I've also read that paper towels are more hygienic.

A lot of places here have these new ones that are super loud and super fast. I love them. They zap your hands dry in seconds.

Today, while I took down the outside Christmas decor, I listened to "Chaplin", and I was so sad to hear synth'd timpani all over the score.  Yes, you can tell.  I use it all the time.  Why?  Because I work where there is no budget.  I recently heard a boot of "The Phantom of the Opera" from 1999, about 15 years or so since the first production. Who knows how many times the show was orchestrated since the opening.  Well, anyway, this was a London production and there was a LOT of synth'd timpani, rolls and all.  Back in 1999, the technology wasn't that great, so it all sounded like a bad MIDI file.

I digress....

I haven't used one of those.  I would still think the heat would dry out your hands, plus then there isn't a towel with witch to use to open the door & avoid the germs on it. ;)

As for the cast recording of "Chaplin", I thought it was ok.  I'd like to see the tour to really get into the story.  I thought the songs were kinda elementary, but worked ok.  Probably work much better on the stage than on disk.  I'm going to listen to "Now. Here. This" next.  Very excited by that.

The DP(sic)'s mom leaves tonight.  I'll miss her as we had some good times.  We cooked her macaroni casserole this eve.  Actually, I cooked it, she showed me how.  It's awesome.  I don't know what will happen tomorrow.  I suppose tomorrow will tell.

Can someone explain this huge slowdown in postings over the last two days after huge days of postings?  Has someone left us again?  Vacations?

DR Cilla at least a week ago I sent you a request for you to lend me a Barnes and Noble book through the "friends" exchange.  I just now received the following:
Quote
We are sorry but War Horse is not currently available to be lent by Priscilla E. and can no longer be borrowed.

Just a reminder: you can always purchase the NOOK® eBook and instantly download it instead.

Please visit our NOOKbook Store if you would like to purchase the NOOKbook and instantly download it instead.

Did you even receive my request?
Oh, no, I don't think so. Why would it now be available for lending now?   Let me check my books and see what I can figure out

It was showing as a "lend/borrow" book and isn't now.

Next time I request a book to borrow I'm going to email the person I did so, just to be sure they received my request.  Obviously Barnes and Noble saw it.

Jane, just went in and did an offer to lend War Horse to you.  I've never done that before, didn't know how to do it

It isn't showing lend/borrow, because I just lent it to you.  Check your email :)

Thank you DR Cilla.  I find it strange you never received my request and that B & N took so long to respond to me, yet you have lent me the book.  The lending library is a nice option & you seems to have some excellent books for lending though I've read most of them.  You liked WAR HORSE, right?

It says I have until the 16th to accept and then 14 days to read it.  I'll wait to accept the offer since I'm only 274 pages into LES MISERABLES and then have to read "WILD: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast Trail" before my library takes it back.

Jane, I haven't borrowed or lent on Nook, so if I did get a notice, I may not have understood it.

"War Horse" appeared on my Nook.  I haven't clicked on it just in case that is what prompts my lending period to begin.

I now have three books to read fast & none of them are lightweight books-lol.  At least War Horse is only 165 pages.

If I don't post tomorrow know that I'm reading.

Good because Keith will not watch the movie.
