Got home yesterday evening after a stop at a gas station and a supermarket.  Baked a potato and grilled a steak.  Ate both.  Was all cleaned up and ready to settle in for the evening when a torpor overtook me.  I was in bed by 8:30 p.m.  And despite having the heat on, my mattress warmer on and a nice fleece blanket and quilt over me, I began shivering.

Sigh.

Two hours later, I woke up in a sweat.  Getting up, I was instantly chilled.  Used the hairdryer in my bathroom to tackle cold spots up and down my body.

Then went back to bed.   Apart from a repetitive and stupid dream cycle, I rested well.

Am at work.  That's all I can say about that.

I'm no doctor, and I don't play one on tv. But it sounds like you are going through menopause.

I've spent the past two hours writing four paragraphs on DEAREST ENEMY.

So when it is cold in Studio City, just what temperature is that?

I still remember walking from my hotel on Orchid over to a coffee shop on Hollywood Blvd in December. It was around 70 degrees that morning and I was wearing flip flops on my feet. The girl at the coffee place asked if I wasn't freezing (she was all bundled up in a heavy sweater).

While walking there I was sweating and kept thinking that I should have worn shorts instead of jeans that morning.  :D

;D

People do wear light weight clothes at 70 degrees, not I but others always have.

Along with my trip to LA in the spring, I may, if finances are good, take a trip to Utah and Wyoming...two places I have never been, and never really wanted to go...but my good buddy Mark wants me to come out there. We shall see.

If you can't do both why not go where you have never been before instead of the trip to LA?  I know you love those trips but Utah & Wyoming are beautiful.
Since most of my friends in LA are in their 80s, I don't like to pass up any opportunity to visit...you never know how much longer they are going to be around. And LA never bores me at all! Even if I had nobody to visit there, I would still have a grand time just driving around and seeing sights.

Mark, on the other hand, visits Oregon every summer, so I know I will get to see him even if I don't travel to his state (Wyoming).

And frankly, Salt Lake City does not look like a very exciting place to visit, although I am sure it is pretty. But if I am going to spend money on only one trip, I want to get the most out of it.

The old TV series WYATT EARP has started playing on Encore Westerns channel. Now, I am not usually a huge fan of western tv shows, but will watch episodes that have actors that I like guest starring...but WYATT EARP is one I have started liking and watching every day.

Hugh O'Brien sure has broad shoulders!

John G., don't forget this one:

Or this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Looking-For-Best-David-Hasselhoff/dp/B0000070S1/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I've heard the song "Hot Shot City" is particularly good.

This was my favorite review of David H's incredible musical product:

Like dingleberries and truckstop bathrooms, this album is exciting dangerous and sexy.

Trivia:

Does anyone know why the show is called Oh! Calcutta!
I actually saw the show and even interviewed Peter Schickele, but I can't remember. Why?

I am still trying to figure out how Virginia Leith ended up in this.....she had some good roles - A KISS BEFORE DYING and THE BLACK WIDOW included.

For the same reason that Basil Rathbone wound up doing movies like GHOST IN THE INVISIBLE BIKINI and HILLBILLYS IN A HAUNTED HOUSE.

They needed the money.

It's a pun on the French phrase "O quel cul t'as!" which means what a pretty butt you've got!

My understanding is that the title does not refer to that part of the female anatomy.

Sorry! You are wrong!

French slang: cul
n.m. butt; buttocks; ass

According to Wikipedia:
cul m (plural culs)
(anatomy) bottom, behind, butt
(vulgar) anus
(figuratively) the bottom, rear (of an object)

From a literal standpoint, I'm sure you are absolutely correct.

However, my former client and the other people in that particular 1960s production, had a different definition.

Oh, dear, it appears that I forgot to log out when we left on our afternoon walk about Norwich.  We walked along the River Wensum and up to the church where Julian was an anchorite.  From there we made our way through Timberhill to the town center.  Walked through the open-air market and eventually found the Library restaurant we'd passed on yesterday's walk.  We were too late for lunch and too early for dinner, so we just wandered along London Street and finally came to the Edith Cavell Pub, "The Edith" to the locals.  Had nice sandwich platters and half-pints, then browsed in the bookshop next door.  Evensong at the Cathedral and now we're in for the evening.
