Wrote a couple of pages after finessing, then had another patty melt, and then, for the fifth time this week, picked up no packages.  I have fired off the first of a couple of scathing e-mails about slowness of delivery.

Now I shall try to write four or five more pages.  Then I'll take a break, then do four or five more at some point this evening.

Oh, dear, it appears that I forgot to log out when we left on our afternoon walk about Norwich.  We walked along the River Wensum and up to the church where Julian was an anchorite.  From there we made our way through Timberhill to the town center.  Walked through the open-air market and eventually found the Library restaurant we'd passed on yesterday's walk.  We were too late for lunch and too early for dinner, so we just wandered along London Street and finally came to the Edith Cavell Pub, "The Edith" to the locals.  Had nice sandwich platters and half-pints, then browsed in the bookshop next door.  Evensong at the Cathedral and now we're in for the evening.

Is it named for the famous English nurse?

Yes, DR Jane, she's buried outside the east end of the Cathedral.

I am still trying to figure out how Virginia Leith ended up in this.....she had some good roles - A KISS BEFORE DYING and THE BLACK WIDOW included.

For the same reason that Basil Rathbone wound up doing movies like GHOST IN THE INVISIBLE BIKINI and HILLBILLYS IN A HAUNTED HOUSE.

They needed the money.

Whatever money they paid him for those movies....it wasn't enough!

I'm sure he would agree.

The old TV series WYATT EARP has started playing on Encore Westerns channel. Now, I am not usually a huge fan of western tv shows, but will watch episodes that have actors that I like guest starring...but WYATT EARP is one I have started liking and watching every day.

Hugh O'Brien sure has broad shoulders!

He was also very nice.

Said none of the people who guest starred on his tv show.  ;)

I met him at his aunt & uncles house when I was young.  He was doing the show then and I couldn't tell he thought he was anything special, but then maybe because of where he was.

Hi everyone.  Thanks for the vibes.  Really, it's all good.  Now we have to make the office back into a bedroom which might take a while, but no one is rushing that, for now.  It's all going to be great.

Yikes! The local critic doesn't care for Peter Pan. Except for Brent Barrett.

I don't understand the review of Cathy Rigby.  I thought she was great when I saw her.   Of course I agree with the reviewer about Brent.

Finished with The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.  Has MBarnum seen it?  98% of the film takes place in India.

Well, I'm still at work. :P But I'm FINALLY leaving.  I've been working on our fiscal year rollover and I HOPE that a new option (just one little check box not available before) will do what it seems to indicate that it will do.  If it does, this will be the easiest fiscal rollover ever!  If not, it'll just be the way that I expected it to be...slow and cumbersome.  We'll see.

I'm going to (hopefully) come to work early tomorrow and test it.  I just remembered that it can easily be tested, but I didn't think about that until now...when I NEED to leave.

Anyway, I'm outta here!

Well, IT WORKED!!  The one little checkbox made ALL the difference in the world!  There were still a few minor discrepancies, but very minor.  I can't believe they FINALLY made something that made the system work well.

A GREAT BIG HAPPY PANTS from the likes of me!! ;D

I think I'll take a nice hot shower, then resume writing for a while.  I ordered a first edition of the book Marigold Hotel is based on.

Marigold has a whole slew of Oscar-worthy performances, including supporting turns that, I'm sorry to say, leave Miss Anne Hathaway in the dust.

In the mail yesterday I received two lovely late Christmas cards...one from Diana Darrin (THE THRILL-MAKERS, REFORM SCHOOL GIRL, and numerous 3 Stooges shorst from the 50s) and Jil Jarmyn (SWAMP WOMEN, TWINKLE IN GOD'S EYE, and TARZAN'S FIGHT FOR LIFE).

Made my day!

That's great, Mike!

My friend from Florida is on her way to LA for the Hollywood Collector's Show (or whatever it's called).  She's a fan of Tina Cole (from My Three Sons and the King Family).  I was going to tell her to look for you,  BK, but I believe you said you weren't going this time.

Hold the phone.  More packages!  Another Kritzerland, this one the new CDs!

Still waiting on several others, but at least the universe is paying slightly better attention.

Hot Spell/Matchmaker and Hud/Lonely Man have arrived in Tumwater! ;D

The cast was wonderful, but then the group of the older English actors always are.

BTW
Trivia:

Does anyone know why the show is called Oh! Calcutta!
I actually saw the show and even interviewed Peter Schickele, but I can't remember. Why?

I love Peter Schickele! I used to see PDQ Bach at Carnegie Hall on his comps.
I was a stage hand for their show when thy were in Iowa City, back when I was in college.  They took me out for  drinks after the show, it was a fun evening
