Well, you've read the notes, the notes lacked a title and yet had a title, and now it is time for you to post until the untitled cows come home.

Friday morning greetings!  Thank you, all, for the travel vibes, which have worked beautifully so far.  We took the Heathrow Express from Paddington and have checked in, exchanged our currency, and cleared security.  We are waiting at our gate and will board in about half an hour.

Ask me how much I'm looking forward to flying with this head cold...

Have a good flight Ginny. It's started snowing where I am so you're getting away just in time! I expect there will be a lot of flight cancellations later in the day. Vibes for head cold to go away!!

TOD:

This week's purchase:
DVD - Natalie Wood Collection. I'd been thinking of getting this box set for some time and HMV had it at a good price.

Glad to hear you're at the airport Ginny. It sounds like London and England was a successful trip. You're going to England, how would it NOT be successful!?

i finally got to see an episode of Dowton Abbey. Up until the moment where it is introduced in a voice over I have been reading it and calling it (and no one correcting me) DownTOWN Abbey.

This long weekend will probably be a Waiting for God marathon. We don't have Season 4 because it's out of the library but last night we watched Season 1 and we will probably watch Seasons 2 and 3 this weekend. Perhaps by then Season 4 will be back and then later in the month we can watch Seasons 4 and 5 (the final season). Then it's on the One Foot in the Grave. They have all 6 seasons at the NY Public Library.

We have also been watching

The Grand

on Acorn TV. It's a Brit TV drama from 1997.

On Wednesday I'm seeing Lincoln for free with a friend from SAG and on Tuesday the 29th I'm seeing the stage version of

Cinderella

Good morning, all! I managed to drag myself out of bed at 7:00am! This is because I am being visited at 9:00 by my HMO's visiting nurse. The company is recommendina visit once a year, whether or not I need it.

I spent all day yesterday believing it was Friday the 18th, and npw that the day is actually here, I do not know what to do with it! Well, I actually do: I've got work at Toyland and a meeting at 3:00 with the wonderful singer/actor Ben Davis who survived Kenneth Branagh's magical MAGIC FLUTE and Ted Sperling's KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY.

Snow is covering England now and it's bitterly cold. Heathrow Airport has had to close one of their two runways so I suspect Ginny's flight may have got delayed.

I just saw that Waiting for God Season 4 is available for streaming on Netflix. I may have to try a free membership and then we can watch the entire series after I take Seasons 3 and 5 out of the library.

This nurse is running late.  She tried to call me from the subway and her message was completely incoherent. Thanks to DR MBarnum, I understand incoherency pretty well, but her message was a total loss. And I believe she is here!

TOD: Probably not much, given the cocktail conference schedule, except for some Thin Man novellas on CD in the car.

But The Dark Knight Rises is in at the library, and if I have time ...

I am trying to wrap my head around the concept (and the execution) of a Cocktail Conference.
Imagine being in my head the morning after, my friend.

Anyway, it's a big old fundraiser for four days in which liquor flows freely. Last night, the group took over the Majestic Theater and had several dozen cocktail stations throughout featuring all sorts of complex and lively libations. As I promised Matthew last night, I will post a few recipes later.

Tonight, we go on river boat cruises through the River Walk area with more libations, followed by an after-hours party with more libations. That goes until 2 a.m.

During the days, which I can attend today because of work, there are bartender competitions with highly coveted prizes for this hand-crafted cocktail world, which is its own subgroup. Also, there are seminars on everything from ice to classic gin cocktails.
