Maybe Walnut Creek?  Is that a place?

Bruce, this made me chuckle.  I had never heard of it until we were house hunting in the Bay Area.  Since then I can't count the number of people I've met from there, most who now live in Southern Oregon.

The team with the worst score got silly hats, bottles of wine and  scratch off lottery tickets,  my team had the most spares so we got the "spare change" prize which was a bag of dollars and change  which came to $30,  the team with the most strikes got the gold strike award and they each got a bag with $30 in gold coins, the top scorers got the red hot award  gift cards to Chili's

it was a lot of fun

:)

What happened to the gift exchange that was to be postponed until the party?

Tomorrow we are going to The New Victory Theatre .....
is a gorgeous old space built in 1900. It went through many phases but in 1990 began to show legit theatre again and in 1995 it re-opened after extensive renovations. It's a jewel box and I love it.

I looked up various images of the theater and it is beautiful.

Interesting fact: both actors are facebook friends of mine. Although the one on the right posts quite often about assorted things, the one on the left rarely posts anything.

Another interesting fact: The producer/director kept both actors living in his home while making the filming...he felt it would be best so that he could more easily "coach" and "rehearse" them. The newby actress was not invited to live at the house, oddly enough.

Thank you for the interesting facts.  Maybe the newby actress would have been better with more coaching ;)

It was a poor day at Toyland: for the third time in two months,  the internet was out: four days in December, one day a couple of weeks ago, and now today. I couldn't accomplish a lot of what I needed to do today, and I'm very pissed about it.

So, I'm home and needing something warm to eat or drink.

I can imagine how annoying that would be.  I hope you feel better after your warm food or drink.

Well, I survived the Cowboy Breakfast, which started at 4:30 a.m. By 5 a.m., when I showed up, several thousand had already arrived and lines for food were enormously long, but they moved fast. The weather could not have been better. It was in the low 60s and the breeze was light.

Corporate training was, well, corporate training. I feel trained.

Page Three Dressler Dance:

Back in September, TCM had a month-long tribute to Mack Sennett.  Each Thursday night, they shows shorts and full-length silent (and a few talking) movies that Sennett made from 1909 to 1933.  One of them was Marie Dressler's very first movie (it was silent) when she was 45 years old.  It was pretty darned funny! :D

Yep--TILLIE'S FRACTURED ROMANCE.  Even the title is funny!  Also, it co-starred Charlie Chaplin.

There's prolly only 2 inches of snow out there, but it was still a chore to drive home from he speed line.  Plus I only had sneaks on so my socks and feet got wet and cold.  Yuck!

Must have been wet snow.  I often walk in 2 inches of snow without a problem. ;)

Just yesterday I looked up "prolly".  I knew what the word meant but not that is was an actual slang word.

Last night I began a book which I finished this morning.  That's what happens when I wake up at 2:00am.  Due to my sleepless nights I have read two excellent books since returning home.

The first book was THE HEADHUNTERS by Jo Nesbo.  I read a detective series he wrote.   This was is completely different and my favorite book of his.

Last nights book was THE TRUE STORY OF HANSEL AND GRETEL by Louise Murphy.  Loosely based on the fairy tale this is the story of two Jewish children in Poland who are renamed Hansel & Gretel before being left in the woods to hide from the Nazi's.

Oh no -  I am am sorry I guess I didn't explain it right - we did do the gift exchange the Friday before Christmas

One of my brokers kindly  sent in lunch from Ben's Kosher Deli (UNBELIEVABLY good ) fresh baked  rye bread,  corned beef, roast beef, turkey breast, coleslaw, pickles, mustard SO good -- so we had that and our gift exchange -  I git a $20 ift card to 7-11 which made me very happy because I like to stop there for coffee on the way to work

you need to brush him more -  its because of the hairballs -- if you brush him at least once a week it willhelp alleviate the problem  I also use to give my cat  something the vet gave me  - I don't remember the name of it (my cats been gone for about 11 years now) but it was like a gel in a tube -  I would squeeze out about 1/4 inch and let him lick it ioff my finger - or put it on his food -  he loved the taste and it help dissolve any ingested hair and prevent hairballs
