Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

DR Jane,

That is very interesting regarding Susan.  That poor child, what she had to endure being a child actress.

;D

Danny Kaye was wonderful and doing that film was a very special time for her.

Growing up where I did it seemed everyone knew a child actor.  In Jr high another child actor joined our class, Flip Mark, who is also a friend.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0548240/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

DR M Barnum,

Was Chery Ladd ,Alan Ladd's daughter/in /law?

Yes.  She kept the name after they divorced.

Yes.  She kept the name after they divorced.

With a name like Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor, it was a good choice.

DR Kate--Susan Gordon was also in Attack of the Puppet People, a movie we saw years ago. I'm sure you remember!

Sheet music for the songs from Bombshell, the musical-within-Smash, is now available for purchase:
It's actually been available since March.  I actually bought this back in June.  It's really fun to listen to the recording and follow along with the music.

Actually actually?  Or just actually?

Back from a lunch meeting with some interesting and potentially fun news: Earlier this year there was a production of And The World Goes Round - it really wasn't very interesting, but the musical director and his folks came to me and asked about doing a recording.  We had several meetings about it, and I said I'd do it if they'd let us do it as long as we recast all of it save for one gal with really amazing people.  I went to Kander and his publisher, they liked the idea as long as we used the full band, and today we made the decision to go ahead.  So, we'll be casting this in the next few weeks and either record it in December or early January.  It will be the first complete recording of the show and since I absolutely loathe everything about the RCA cast album, it will be fun to hopefully make a better version.

That is so cool!!  Congrats, BK!  I'm curious...has the show itself been "revised" or is it basically the same song choices as the original?

Thank you. I don't care much for the RCA recording either, except for the song selection. And who wants great songs in lousy performances?

So, how will you bill this? Studio cast recording?

Thursday evening greetings!

So, yesterday Richard and I left about 3pm for our Wednesday workout.  About halfway there, he said, "My chest hurts," so, instead of turning left into the Y, we turned right into the ER.  They determined almost immediately that he was NOT having a heart attack, but decided to keep him overnight and do a stress test this morning.  Late this afternoon the cardiologist told us that that test suggested there might be a blockage in the lower part of the heart, so tomorrow morning they're doing an angiogram (cath) to find out for sure.  If necessary, a stent will be placed to open the blockage.

Vibes would be appreciated.

I have a new friend who has come around to my front yard a few times. She doesn't get along yet with the boy cat that visits the back yard, but she loves having her ears rubbed.

DR MBarnum - did your buddy Parvesh play the doctor's son or the caterer on that Hot in Cleveland episode?
