DR Ginny - does DH Richard have to preach on Sunday? Would he still be able to?

No, he called last night and said he wouldn't be there this coming Sunday or the next.

Well, thank goodness you don't have to force him to be sensible.

Well, sort of.  When he's not there, the lay reader does a Morning Prayer service.  No communion.

Thursday evening greetings!

So, yesterday Richard and I left about 3pm for our Wednesday workout.  About halfway there, he said, "My chest hurts," so, instead of turning left into the Y, we turned right into the ER.  They determined almost immediately that he was NOT having a heart attack, but decided to keep him overnight and do a stress test this morning.  Late this afternoon the cardiologist told us that that test suggested there might be a blockage in the lower part of the heart, so tomorrow morning they're doing an angiogram (cath) to find out for sure.  If necessary, a stent will be placed to open the blockage.

Vibes would be appreciated.

BEST WISHES AND MEGA VIBES FOR RICHARD!!!!

I have a new friend who has come around to my front yard a few times. She doesn't get along yet with the boy cat that visits the back yard, but she loves having her ears rubbed.

She is beautiful!

BK - Could you include some numbers from THE VISIT as bonus tracks?

Like the whole score.

I second that suggestion! ;)

And now, I'm off.  Time for rehearsal...a full run-through or two!  I hope I don't call for lines too often. ::)

And of course, THE MAN IN THE NET co-stars our dear friend and former HHWer, the late Susan Gordon (aka DR DenMother). Here she is, with Ladd, in a scene from the film:

I guess I will have to watch this film.  I never knew Susan was in it.

I am pleased to say I have heard from DR DERBRUCER.  He had cataract surgery and was finally able to use the computer, not that he is using it much.  I will let him know folks have been asking about him and there were birthday wishes.

Jane, please tell him I asked about him.

Thank you, Slum Lord, for that clip.  And also for the Jack Jones Dance Re-Mix of THE LOVE BOAT THEME!

You are most welcome, DR TCB.     :)

I don't remember doing the latter.  But it sure sounds like something I would do!

Started watching the old version of "Parade's End." So far, it's a bit of a constant surprise as to how adult it is. Judi Dench was really young and vibrant, but a little too much of the books have been condensed for the miniseries.

I forgot to mention that back in the 1980s the manager of the apartments I lived had worked as Alan Ladd's stand-in back in the day. That was when I first learned that Ladd was rather short.

He was? :)

There's no denying Ladd was stature-challenged.  Many a photographic trick was used to put him on an even playing field with the taller actors of his day.  He was not an exception, however.  Many actors and actresses were diminutive in stature.

It's really all about proportion.  With Ladd, he often played opposite more rugged types than most matinee idols, and so his height became an issue.  I believe he was considered very sensitive to it.

However....proportionally, he was extremely photogenic:

For TCB:

All right, TCB, here's another one you can share:

Thank you, Ron!
