Actually, I am Happy Pickle Pants.

You always were!

It's like that Mary Boland quote from "The Women": "I am Dandy Gelatine!"

Meat loaf in the oven and, man, do I need comfort food today.  Mom backed, tearfully, out of our shopping trip and we'll try again tomorrow.  Either way, I will check on her tomorrow and who knows what I'll find.  So, with my unplanned free time today, I sat down to finish the book we're discussing tomorrow evening - Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried.  Beautifully written, but it brings back a lot of depressing memories of the Vietnam Era.  Then, I got an email announcing this Estate Sale at the home of a good friend here in Middletown.  She's still alive, but downsizing.  I've sat on a lot of the furniture she's selling and eaten off a lot of the dishes.

Meat loaf and mac 'n' cheese are definitely called for tonight!

I like the movie EVIL UNDER THE SUN very much.....particularly Mr. Clay.

Mr. Clay or Mr. Clay's often barely clad body?

Do I need to see this movie?

It's most enjoyable.

Tim teaches up the road from here in San Marcos. I remember reading that book and agree with you that it's emotionally unsettling.

Meat and carbs. Those are things I carry.

Is that Dr Aimee's estate sale? Meat loaf and mac'n'cheese sounds taboo!

I think I'm finishing off the cauliflower tonight!

I'd rather have meat loaf and mac'n'cheese.

Thanks for the laugh, DR John G!

The reason we're reading this book is that it's the selection for Middletown's Big Read, which is spearheaded by the wonderful staff at the library where my career began.

Hello, fellow DRs. I'm back home, and also caught up on all the notes and postings.

The trip was a good one; the wedding went well, and it was good to see the DH and his family. Health issues presented a challenge, making the trip extremely uncomfortable, but everything seems to have resolved itself now. Thanks for all the travel vibes and good wishes!

I hope you are okay, SlingBlade!

No, DR Elmore, it's Dr. Patterson.

As long as we're blowing our diets tonight, I think I'll bake a couple of the apple dumpling thingies that we have in the freezer:

Okay, you New York people, Sandy needs bodies for her show tomorrow night at the Metropolitan Room.  I read lots o' posts here from New York people who go to everything, and yet so far only ChasSmith has taken up her offer to comp in (food, drink and cover) anyone from this here site.  So, why don't you get off your butt cheeks and go see her - she's great, it's a fun show filled with some of the best songs ever written and all you have to do is drop me a PM so I can get your name on the list.  Also, bring friends or just tell your friends but she'd like to get another twenty to thirty people in there.  Spread the word like fine pate.

Congrats, Singdaw!

I'm up, I'm up.  I was up several times earlier but I just fell back asleep each time, which I needed.  I have to leave in thirty minutes for lunch.  But one thing that happened this morning - I think one of those times I was awake I came up with a new name for the next novel that I kind of like - I'll run it by Muse Margaret.

Good news, BK!

This is an interesting video of a church near me in Stamford, CT. It is a Presbyterian Church known as the "Fish Church" because it is in the shape/form of a fish. It was built in the 1950s and its design is unique and award-winning. On a sunny day, the inside is truly a sight to behold. This video was captured using a small remote-control helicopter. I have performed in this church many times.

Wow!  That really is a beautiful building.

Meanwhile, I'm trying a household hint I found on Facebook.  To remove rust stains from your dishwasher, run it empty with lemonade flavor Kool-Aid in the soap dispenser.  Richard and I had to ask several people at Kroger where to find Kool-Aid and learned that there's half an aisle of "Powdered Drink Mixes."  Who knew?
