Just finished reading A Woman in White.  I loved it. I haven't read a book from the 1800s in a while.  I think I'm going to read more of them

Spare yourself the chore of listening to the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical version.

I have no intention of listening to it. I enjoyed the book too much

I read the notes this morning, and afterward, I was so tired; I went back to bed for a couple of hours.  Whew!  What a schedule.

Tonight I'm going to a good friend's house for dinner.  I'm looking forward to it.  She's from England and I always enjoy her company

DR Cillaliz - my grandfather's favorite book was The Moonstone, also by Wilkie Collins.      :)

Fr. Richard is making the call as I post - we are not going to Lima tomorrow.  It's supposed to start snowing about 3 or 4 in the morning and not stop for about 24 hours.  Then the temps are supposed to drop way below zero.

The good news is that we think our water is fine.

Well, it appears that I am actually going to win the Publisher's Clearing House Jackpot on February 28.  Today I received  a letter from the Office Of The Comtroller.  Now you know that they don't send those out to just anybody!

Paul made it back from his trip to Palm Springs.  We had a nice breakfast and coffee this morning and talked and talked.  He drove (and rode) with his nephew and his wife and son.  They took the Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Nevada route going out and the Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska route coming home. He had a really good time and it was fun to hear all about it.   He now understands that flying is cheaper than driving across the country when you include gas, motel rooms and food.

And exhaustion!

Started watching Before Midnight. Wish it were summertime and I just happened to be at the house in Greece where the movie is being filmed. Maybe not with these people, though I like a lot of the talk. And I think that's part of the point.

He can't direct for the musical theater, so Rob Ashford is now going to direct opera? Of course. Maybe they'll keep him.

Just caught up with this week's Filichia on Friday. Great column and interesting subject of debate. Should film critics have seen the stage version of a work like August: Osage County before reviewing the movie?

It's funny. I don't think it's essential. Not everyone reads the book before reviewing a movie. But theater critics do take brickbats if they don't see the movie that the latest musical is based on. So, why is OK for movie critics and not theater critics?

He'll have dancers twirling around every singer since a lot of them won't be as limber and physically mobile as he'd like.  There are a lot of fools working in opera. Oy!

Had a wonderful stumble-through.  Then I took the Staitmans out to celebrate Sarah's birthday - she chose Mo's.  I ordered what I always order there, the salmon.  It arrived looking nothing like the salmon I've been eating there for five years - it had a bilious green liquid over it, and when I asked why it was different I was told this was the new way they were doing salmon.  I said, "Well, this is the new way I'm sending it back because it would be nice to mention such a huge change).  I had the roast chicken and that wasn't so hot either.

I only wrote about a page this morning, so must now write at least four or five more.  Maybe three now and two before bed.

I was out (in the kitchen) making a turkey pie from the last of our Christmas bird.  I'd frozen the meat last Saturday, when we were kind of sick of eating turkey for a while.

Has Matthew made up his mind about moving to Chicago? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am wondering if romance has anything to do with the Chicago move?
